Visit Governors Main Camp

Once reserved exclusively for Kenya’s colonial Governors and their royal visitors, the Governors Main Camp is today popular with both animals and their admirers visiting the Maasai Mara and is currently hosting the BBC film crew for Planet Earth Live. The camp emphasis is on enjoyment of the wildlife heritage of Africa in the highest possible style.

Situated along the banks of the Mara River in the west of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve Governors Main Camp is an icon of standards in luxury tented camping, putting particular emphasis on comfort and a seamless service, all complimented by the sort of good food which would have been impossible to savour in the bygone days of the grand safari. Maintaining these unique qualities as a tradition, the camp has been refined and improved over the years.
