Visit Naibor Camp

Naibor camp is located in the Maasai Mara near the confluence where the Talek River meets the Mara River. The camp nestles beneath the boughs of acacia and guests can relax and enjoy the vastness of Africa in complete privacy. This property is a seasonal camp that has the incomparable benefit of being in an exclusive area for walking and game drives during the day and night.

The tents nestle amongst a riverine forest and are spaced so that each has a unique view of the surrounding bush and wildlife. The tents are furnished with solid, comfortable furniture so that you have the ultimate in camping-luxury to come back to after exciting game drives or walks in the conservancy.

Accommodation

There are 7 large but classic safari tents, 5 doubles and 1 twin – all large tents with an open veranda, made from pale khaki canvas and insect-proof white mesh, each tent is lavishly decorated using a striking combination of contemporary style and comfort and muted bush colours.

The canvas tents accommodate king-size beds of fig-wood with soft quilts, wide sofas furnished with bolster cushions and wool rugs, each positioned for the maximum enjoyment of the surrounding views and complete privacy. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom complete with his and hers wash basins, flush toilet and safari shower, filled daily with hot water on request.

The main ‘mess’ tent at Naibor Camp is beautifully located overlooking the Talek River and beyond where animals regularly come to drink. Comfortable floor-cushions, rugs and sofas invite the weary to relax and enjoy the sounds of the wilderness and the camp-fire provides a welcome spot for pre-dinner drinks in the evening.

Meals are made from the finest fresh ingredients prepared by our experienced chefs. Dinner is served at either the long banquet table or at private tables under the stars, whilst breakfast and lunch may either be served in camp or as a picnic during a morning of game watching.

Activities

Each day is different and depends entirely on what the guest wishes to do. We can walk all day meeting a bush breakfast and picnic lunch; track wildlife; find honey; visit one of the local Maasai villages to learn about their culture and way of life; go on early morning game drives or a guided walk then come return back to camp for breakfast.

Tea is normally brought to the tent at first light as the dawn chorus starts as the stars begin to fade. We could take a full day of game drives picnic lunch and into the Game Reserve, taking chairs and tables for a secluded picnic. Naibor camp is accessible either by road or by flight. Daily scheduled flights are available from Nairobi’s Wilson airport to Siana Springs airstrip which is approximately one hours drive from camp.
