Visit Porini Amboseli Camp
This award-winning Kenya safari camp is set in the Amboseli eco-system within the exclusive The Selenkay Conservancy – an important wildlife dispersal area for wildlife moving out of Amboseli National Park. The private conservation area ensures the best possible game viewing in proper off-road safari vehicles, off the beaten track and away from other tourist vans and minibuses.
Porini Amboseli Safari Camp is small – with just 10 spacious guest tents – and retains all the charm and feel of the traditional mobile safari camps of days gone by. The tents are tastefully furnished and have solar powered electric lighting with en suite bathrooms including shower, wash basin and flush toilet.

What Porini Amboseli Camp Guests Say About Us...
In our commitment to excellence, we not only strive to exceed our clients’ expectations but also value their feedback. We are proud to present our latest clients’ feedback from Porini Amboseli Camp posted on Trip Advisor.

First Camp on our 10 day safari for our family of 13. Near and dear to our hearts.
Porini Amboseli was our first camp where we took 6 of their total tents. Our tents were awesome, all the staff and drivers were incredible, the meals were delicious and we loved the hot water bottles in our beds at night after we climbed in for a much needed rest after long game drives. The hot bucket showers were the best!
Brianna C - Aug 2024
Trip of a lifetime
This camp was so majestic. Being this close to elephants was a lifetime experience. Thompson was our guide and was so knowledgeable. All of the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a trip of a lifetime.
Lana T - Aug 2024
Incredible spot for wildlife
For our first of two safaris our family of 5 was greeted by our wonderful Maasai guides as soon as we landed and within minutes we were up close and personal with a male lion and his two lionesses and completely blown away that we were actually in their world. Our guides, Daniel and Thompson, instantly captured our hearts as they shared their extensive knowledge and life long experiences growing up as proud Maasai warriors. Their superhuman skill for tracking a multitude of animals was proof the Maasai people are very much part of the nature in which they live. Our visit to the nearby Maasai villagers warmed our hearts with their kindness. All the Maasai camp staff were incredible and the accommodations were very clean and comfortable.

Seen it all !!
What a way to do safari!! The camp is ECO friendly and staying on the conservancy means so much more freedom to see the wildlife up close. The early wake up calls for the game drive are worth it especially when you see a lioness at the watering hole outside the camp or 2 cheetahs sauntering down the road… special thanks to Moses our guide and Melita who were both just extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and where to find it.

Wonderful
Fantastic experience at Porini Amboseli Camp! Everyone made us feel super welcome and took great care of us. Our guide Thomson was the best! So friendly, and super knowledgeable about nature and animals. The food at this camp was also amazing. The room was very comfortable. It's in the middle of nowhere, surrounded with wildlife. It's a bit far from the Amboseli reserve itself but on the way you already see plenty of animals in the conservancy. 100% recommended!

An evening drink with the elephants
We have now stayed at this camp four times and thoroughly enjoy the intimate nature of the camp, as well as the surrounding wildlife, especially the elephants. Just outside camp is a waterhole where they often come to drink in the evening, so you can have your sundowners watching the elephants having theirs. The waterhole attracts other animals as well, and on our most recent trip we were able to watch giraffes drinking, a precarious exercise for them. Mount Kilimanjaro can be seen from many places in the Conservancy, and makes a great backdrop to photos when it is not shrouded in mist The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the skills of the guides are excellent. We are already planning our next visit.

An exceptional African safari experience.
The Amboseli Camp was my favorite camp because I really enjoyed the remoteness of it. It was very well run and the food was amazing. The game drive guides were very experienced and knowledgable about the animals and the game parks. I highly recommend Porini Amboseli Camp for anyone seeking an exceptional African safari experience.

Perfect safari camp
2 night stay at Porini Amboseli Camp in December 2024. My first Porini camp and I was very impressed. The tents are huge and very well equipped, with a super comfy bed (with hot water bottle), an excellent bathroom, hot water showers (on request, as water is fed into the shower by bucket), and bed tea/coffee brought every morning to your tent. All little details are spot on.
Ruuuf - Nov 2024
Great way to start our trip
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Amboseli Camp this past November. We saw a lot of mammals and many species of birds while on game drives and at sundowners. The elephants came to the watering hole in the evening in large numbers with babies and they really 'put on a show' playing with each other. We went to the National Park also and were able to see even more species of birds there...and also saw lions cross the road while we were there. We saw Cheetah babies and on a night drive caught a glimpse of a leopard. The accommodations were comfy, the food was good and the hosts were friendly. The safari guides were knowledgable and so accommodating to our wishes.

Everything about Porini Amboseli camp was magnificent. From the staff, to the drivers and spotters, and other guests was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this camp for anyone and especially if you travel alone as you are welcomed by everyone and never feel left out. I will definitely be going to Kenya again through Gamewatchers Porini camps.

Since the birth of the modern safari holiday in the 1920’s, Kenya has been the destination of choice for intrepid explorers to get a taste of wild Africa and the storybook animals that roam free of cage and bars. The Safari holiday has changed somewhat since the early days of heading out into the bush with gun and tent..
