Situated on United Nations Crescent in Nairobi, our office’s neighbouring shopping complex could not be in greater contrast to the wild surroundings at the safari camps we offer to clients wishing to get in touch with raw Africa, which are far removed from the mass-market tourist lodges offered by some tour operators.
From the outset you can be reassured that your time on safari in the wildlife parks and reserves will be maximised as you will access them by air from Nairobi’s Wilson’s Airport flying in on the daily scheduled services which link Nairobi to the parks.
Our friendly and experienced Safari Consultants will be delighted to help and advise you in planning your safari tour and will make all the arrangements for your chosen itinerary. They are based in Nairobi, UK, Canada, USA, Australia and India.
On arrival in Kenya, our Customer Services Manager and her team will be on hand to ensure your safari tour arrangements are taken care of and run smoothly, to meet you at the airport and to look after your transfers between your Nairobi hotel and the different wildlife parks and reserves or the coast.
Our business credentials are anchored in the local community. Our Managing Director, Dr Mohanjeet Brar, is a 4th generation Kenyan who grew up in the forests of the Kenyan highlands with strong ties to the local community and an interest in forestry and wildlife. With a Doctorate degree in Plant Science from the US he is also a member of KPSGA (the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association) as a certified safari guide.
Mohanjeet has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ecotourism Kenya, Board Member of Kenya Tourism Federation, Board Member of the East African Wildlife Society, Board Member of African Travel & Tourism Association, Founding Trustee of the Kijabe Forest Trust, Vice Chair of the KEPSA Environment Sector Board and is currently a Board Member of the Kenya Tourism Board, Board Member of the African Wildlife Foundation Kenya Board, Board Member of the African Conservation Centre, Board Member of the Kenya Association of Tour Operators, Board Member of the Maasai Mara Conservancies Association and a Fellow of Atta (African Travel & Tourism Association). The History
Gamewatchers Safaris was established in 1989 by our founder, Jake Grieves-Cook, who has been involved in Kenya’s tourism industry for nearly 50 years.
Jake is a passionate advocate of sustainable and responsible tourism – evidenced by his having been Chairman of the Ecotourism Society of Kenya (ESOK), being a board member of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), as well as having been a one time Chairman of the Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF), a trustee of the EU/ Kenya Government Tourism Trust Fund (TTF), and an active member of the East African Wildlife Society and Chairman of the Kenya Tourist Board (KTB). His involvement with Maasai communities at Amboseli and the Mara in setting up our wildlife conservation projects was ground-breaking and always completely hands-on.
