The Porini Ol Kinyei Safari Cottages are your exclusive private home in the world renowned Masai Mara offering every comfort with the distinct warm service of the Ol Kinyei Maasai and an unbeaten wildlife experience. The cottages feature a wildlife dam on the property, in walking distance from your doorstep.

A unique “home away from home” with stunning views across the Mara in the only IUCN Green List Protected area in the Mara eco-system with some of the highest big cat densities and the location of the annual Loita wildebeest calving every year in February and March, with the local community members who know this land intimately as your hosts.

The 4 four-bedroom high-end safari cottages are on a hillside location with spectacular views over the open plains below. There is a large wildlife dam down from the cottages which is a big draw for wildlife including lions and elephants. The cottages are designed to maximize on these views whilst minimizing the visual impact from the plains. Each Cottage has four spacious bedrooms, all with private bathrooms en-suite. A common lounge with a fireplace for the cold evenings and media room for kids to have a place to unwind, remote working, reviewing and editing the days photographers and so much more. The design is open where practical – to ‘fit in’ with the surrounds and ethos of a conservation minded development, giving a closeness to nature but without compromising comfort and functionality.

For guests staying at the Porini Safari Cottages for their African safari holiday, we can arrange to book return flights from Nairobi to the nearby Naboisho Ol Seki airstrip using the daily scheduled services of Safarilink/Airkenya,  Kenya’s leading safari airlines.

Itinerary

Duration: 2 nights/3 days

Day 1

10am flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to the Mara. Porini Safari Cottages staff will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to camp. After lunch take an afternoon game drive in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, stopping at a scenic point for a sundowner. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 2

Morning and evening game drives in the conservancy land surrounding the camp.  (Or for those guests who wish to have a visit to the Mara Reserve: after an early breakfast drive into the Reserve for the full morning and a picnic lunch in the Reserve returning to camp later in the afternoon.) In the evening, head out for a “Sundowner” within Ol Kinyei Conservancy and then continue back to camp on a night game drive looking for nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 3

Take an early morning walk in the Conservancy escorted by Maasai warriors and return for breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi (arriving around 12.15pm).

For all guests booked for 6 or more nights at Porini Camps we provide a free airport transfer on arrival in Nairobi to any hotel in Nairobi booked by us, or to Wilson airport.

Free Night in Nairobi and Free Airport Transfer

For all guests booking 8 nights or more staying at the Porini Camps we provide a FREE NIGHT including breakfast in Nairobi plus a free arrival transfer from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

For your free night in Nairobi you can choose between a night at the Eka Hotel (on Bed & Breakfast basis), or stay at Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park on Bed & Breakfast basis (excluding $78 park entry fee). For stays at Nairobi Tented Camp our special discounted Half Board safari package at $105 can be added as a pre-booked option to include a free game drive and dinner and free drinks.
