A one-week safari with a difference! Designed especially for families, this Kenya holiday offers comfortable accommodation and includes exciting activities and adventures for the children.
Beginning with some unforgettable animal encounters near Nairobi, your wildlife safari continues to two very different reserves rich with game – Samburu and the Maasai Mara. There is also an option of staying at a Kenyan Beach Resort afterwards. Travel between the parks is by air to avoid long road journeys and accommodation is in luxury tented camps. All game drives are in 4×4 safari vehicles (not vans) and there is the option of experiencing a Balloon Safari.

Second day excursion to Daphne Sheldrick, Giraffe Centre and lunch at Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens then return to EKA hotel on bed and breakfast.
Third day transfer to Wilson Airport to fly to Samburu and 2 nights at Samburu Intrepids Camp on full board basis + shared game drives + Samburu Game Reserve fees.
Fifth day fly from Samburu to Maasai Mara & 2 nights at Mara Intrepids camp on full board basis + shared game drives + Maasai Mara Game Reserve fees.
Seventh and last day fly from Maasai back to Nairobi.
The Adventurers’ Clubs (at both camps) are for children aged under 12 years and include activities such as:

DAY BY DAY
Tour Experiences
Day 1
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to the Eka Hotel, Nairobi. You will arrive in time to check in for a two-night stay on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
Day 2
Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at your hotel. Today, you will enjoy a full day of exploration in Nairobi, starting with a visit to the renowned Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, located near the scenic Nairobi National Park. Here, experienced handlers will introduce you to the playful elephant and rhino orphans as you witness their feeding time. This unique experience allows for a close-up interaction, where the animals approach visitors for a gentle touch.
Next, head to the nearby Giraffe Centre, where from the elevated tree-house platforms, you can engage with these graceful creatures at eye level. The giraffes, accustomed to human interaction, will eagerly feed from your hand, offering a memorable encounter.
Lunch will be served at the charming Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens, after which you will return to the Eka Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before proceeding to check out. You will then be transferred to Nairobi Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be met and transferred to Samburu Intrepids, where you will check in and enjoy lunch.
For families traveling with children, the little ones can participate in activities at the Adventurers’ Club. In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling game drive in Samburu Reserve.Â
Conclude your day with dinner and an overnight stay at Samburu Intrepids.
Day 4
Spend a full day in the reserve, participating in scheduled morning and afternoon game drives, along with a variety of engaging activities. All meals will be provided, and you will overnight at your camp.
Day 5
Enjoy breakfast at your camp before checking out. You will then be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Maasai Mara. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Mara Intrepids, where you will check in and enjoy lunch.
For families traveling with children, the little ones can participate in activities at the Adventurers’ Club. In the afternoon, embark on an exhilarating game drive in Mara Reserve.Â
Conclude your day with dinner and an overnight stay at Mara Intrepids.
Day 6
Experience an optional Balloon Safari, complete with a Champagne breakfast, available at an additional supplement.
Spend a full day in the reserve, enjoying scheduled morning and afternoon game drives, as well as children’s activities at Mara Intrepids. All meals will be provided, and you will overnight at your camp.
Day 7
Enjoy breakfast at your camp before checking out. You will then be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be met and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward arrangements.
For those interested in extending their holiday, an optional beach extension is available (supplements apply). You can fly to Mombasa, Ukunda (Diani), or Malindi to enjoy a stay on the beautiful Kenya coast.

Day 1
Met by our representative at Nairobi airport and transfer to the Eka Hotel, Nairobi, for 2 nights (Bed & Breakfast basis).
Day 2
Day 3
Pick up from hotel and transfer to Nairobi Wilson Airport for the 1 hour flight to Samburu. Met and transferred to Samburu Intrepids, arriving for lunch. 2 nights at Samburu Intrepids (Full Board basis). Children can take part in the activities of the Adventurers’ Club. Afternoon game drive in Samburu Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Intrepids.
Day 4
Morning and afternoon game drives and children’s activities at Samburu Intrepids (Full Board basis).
Day 5
Transfer to the airstrip and fly direct from Samburu to Masai Mara. Met and transferred to Mara Intrepids, arriving for lunch. 2 nights at Mara Intrepids (Full Board basis). Children can take part in the activities of the Adventurers’ Club. Afternoon game drive in Mara Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Mara Intrepids.

Morning game drive and fly back to Nairobi arriving 12.15. Optional beach extension (supplements apply): fly to Mombasa, Ukunda (Diani) or Malindi to extend your holiday with a stay on the beautiful Kenya coast.

Hello, I am Sally Wanjau, and I have been travelling to Kenya on safari since the 1980’s which led to me living and working there for several years. Married to a Kenyan, it is a place that I now call home. I currently live in the UK with my husband.
