The Porini Wilderness Safari offers an authentic, eco-conscious adventure designed for those who seek more than just sightings — but a genuine connection to nature.
Your journey begins in Selenkay Conservancy, part of the greater Amboseli, ecosystem, where elephants roam beneath the gaze of Mount Kilimanjaro and Maasai warriors lead bush walks and night drives in an area untouched by mass tourism. From there, fly north to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, East Africa’s largest rhino sanctuary and one of the few places on Earth where you can see both black and white rhinos, as well as lions, leopards, and elephants — all with the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya as your backdrop.
Finally, continue to Olare Motorogi Conservancy, bordering the famed Masai Mara, where big cats thrive and you may witness the drama of the Great Migration (seasonal). Explore by open-sided 4×4, enjoy sundowners in golden light, and relax at award-winning Porini Camps that offer exceptional comfort with minimal impact.
With all flights, game drives, guided walks, meals, drinks, and conservancy fees included, this carefully curated itinerary delivers rich wildlife experiences with effortless ease — all while directly supporting conservation and local communities. Tour Experiences
Day 1
Pickup from Nairobi at 9am and transfer by safari minibus to Porini Amboseli Camp (a 5 hour journey of 128 miles), arriving at camp before lunch. (NB optional flight upgrade at a supplement). Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Maasai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Then take a game drive in the conservancy followed by a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro. Night game drive and return to Porini Amboseli Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to Porini Amboseli Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Early breakfast and then drive through Amboseli park to the airstrip for the 9am flight to Wilson, connecting onto the 10.20h flight to Nanyuki (arriving at 11.30h). You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp, located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then head off on a game drive with your driver-guide in the camp’s 4×4 safari vehicle. Return to Porini Rhino Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4
Full day in Ol Pejeta with game drives and walking activities from camp. Dinner and overnight at Porini Rhino Camp.
Day 5
Depart Porini Rhino Camp and fly from Nanyuki on the 09.45 Safarilink flight to Mara arriving at 11.00. You will be met and transferred to Porini Lion Camp. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then go on a game drive or escorted walk followed by a sundowner and night drive with spotlight. Return to Porini Lion Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Enjoy a full day to explore the Olare Motorogi Conservancy at your leisure, or opt for an exhilarating game drive in the renowned Masai Mara Reserve. Should you choose the latter, a picnic lunch will be provided in the park before returning to camp in the late afternoon.
In the evening, unwind with a sundowner in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, followed by a night game drive to discover the nocturnal wildlife. Conclude your day with dinner and an overnight stay at Porini Lion Camp.
Note: From July 1 to September 30, a one-day fee to view the Migration in the Reserve is already included in your package.
Day 7
Optional Balloon Safari and Champagne Breakfast, at a supplement.
Begin the day with a final early morning game drive in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, returning to camp for breakfast. Later in the morning, transfer to the airstrip for your 11:00 AM flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi, arriving shortly after 12:00 noon. Met and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward arrangements.
Alternatively, opt to extend your stay for an additional night at Porini Lion Camp.
You may choose to add extra nights at any of the Porini Camps. Alternatively, consider extending your stay by flying to the Kenya Coast or the Island of Zanzibar, where you can unwind on the pristine white beaches of the Indian Ocean.
