One of the oldest and largest deserts on earth, the Namib Desert was formed approx 55 million years ago and is home to some of the highest sand dunes in the world, which stand at an impressive 300 metres high.  Namib means vast in the Nama language and the Namib Sand Sea was proclaimed a World Heritage site in 2013, with many visitors coming to experience the magnificent dunes of Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei.

This area offers awe inspiring landscapes and vistas & stunning night skies, where visitors can experience a true sense of expanse and space.
