1. Exceptional wildlife-viewing in our private Conservancies
1. Exceptional wildlife-viewing in our private Conservancies
Our conservancies are brimming with wildlife year-round. The truly wild animals freely wander in to our reserves, attracted by the tranquil, protected habitat, away from the crowds of tourist minivans in the adjacent National Parks.
Guests at our Porini Safari Camps are treated to some spectacular sightings in and around our Conservancies, and our safari guides show visitors the varied flora and fauna on daily game-drives and guided walks.

2. See various locations in one trip by combining two or more Porini Camps
2. See various locations in one trip by combining two or more Porini Camps
Each Porini Camp is set within its own wildlife conservancy, surrounded by nature, with opportunities for seeing a broad range of Africa’s iconic animals. But the differing topography and habitat in each area gives a different feel and game-viewing experience.
Porini Amboseli Camp is renowned for its good numbers of elephants, the Mara conservancies have Africa’s highest density of wild lions and Porini Rhino Camp is set within a world-famous rhino sanctuary where visitors can see the World’s last two Northern White Rhino as well as the rest of the Big Five. Rhino River Camp is situated in privately owned wilderness right on the edge of the Meru National Park – home to all of the Big Five and much more.

3. Close-up wildlife encounters in our Photography Hide
3. Close-Up Wildlife Encounters in our Photography Hide
Guests at Porini Rhino Camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy have been enjoying the new photography hide which has been carefully placed to enhance wildlife-viewing at the watering hole right in front of camp.
The watering hole offers visitors an opportunity to observe the wild animals that come for a drink – and the hide allows guests to get close (safely!) to the animals which can freely stroll into camp.
Spending time in a hide can, with a little patience, result in some incredible sightings, as our guest Matt Caldwell found during his visit.

4. Family Tents now at four Porini Camps – ideal for groups
4. Family Tents now at four Porini Camps – ideal for groups
Our Porini Camps at Amboseli, Ol Pejeta, Rhino River, Porini Mara & Porini Lion now feature large Family Tents.
The Family Tents are comprised of two Twin / Double Tents each having its own separate bathroom, with an additional lounge area between them, giving a large private space which is ideal for any family or group travelling together. They are simply priced as two tents, but have the advantage of the extra space.

5. Customised Photographic Vehicle for Game Drives
5. Customised Photographic Vehicle for Game Drives
Photography enthusiasts can now embark on a safari in our new specially-equipped photographic vehicle at Porini Lion Camp.
This specially-adapted Landrover has lowered window openings to maximise photography opportunities, and the centre row of seats has been removed allowing increased space for photographers to move to the most advantageous positions.

6. Guided Walks with Maasai Warriors
6. Guided Walks with Maasai Warriors
Who better to guide you on your African safari than the Maasai people, whose presence has helped shape Kenya’s history for centuries?
Some of our safari guides and spotters descend from generations of Maasai warriors who have made their home on East Africa’s savannah plains near the most important game reserves in Africa.
Walk with them through the vast conservancies and learn the secrets of the savannah without crowds of visitors and noisy vehicles interrupting your journey.
A guided safari walk enables you to get closer to the flora and fauna often missed when in a vehicle. Search for “Africa’s Little 5”, discover how to track the footprints of big cats and their prey. You can even learn how to throw a spear!
What Our Clients Say..
In our commitment to excellence, we not only strive to exceed our clients’ expectations but also value their feedback. We are proud to present our latest clients’ feedback from Gamewatchers Safaris clients posted on Trip Advisor.
Posted on Mollie B16 November 2025Verified A holiday that delivered above all expectations The service in booking and then on holiday was excellent from the beginning to the end. We opted for the 9 day safari which gave us an experience of different conservancies and animals in them, eg: some were dry, others were green, and one was cold at night but cosy because of the water bottles waiting in our beds as we went back to our tents. The Masai guides could not have been more knowledgeable or helpful. The safari was such a great experience that we are considering another soon. We might consider a couple of 3 night camps next time as we were on the move every other day which was tiring. However, What a Wonderful and Memorable time from a company that puts back into local communities and has very happy staff as a result. We did question how this worked but every Masai we discussed this with was enthusiastic about the benefits for all. Keep up the excellent work Gamewatchers! And for anyone reading this, the conservancy model here allowed us to view animals right next to the vans. We were given a real insight as to the differences between the National parks, also visited, and the conservancies.Posted on tinkbee151 November 2025Verified Unforgettable experience Wow where to begin. Firstly, Wayne, our organiser was fantastic at making recommendations and getting everything organised for us in the build up to the trip. We stayed at Mara Camp and Lion Camp in the Maasai Mara conservancies and it was amazing. Firstly, having heavily debated if the conservancies were the right option for visiting the Mara, they were. The ability to off-road and the minimal vehicles are well worth it. Getting to the camp was straight forward and everything was smooth. Mara camp was great, a really intimate camp with a friendly atmosphere. The tents are fantastic with everything you need, and the people are so friendly and attentive. The food was great, and we also made some great friends around the dinner table and in our vehicles. From just the front porch of our tent we saw elephants, giraffes, vervet monkeys, hyrax, malachite king fishers, baboons, and bushbook. The guides , Ben and Joseph were great, and we saw lions on every single drive, often with cubs. Lion camp was larger but it still had a very friendly feel, and our tent over looked the river giving us crocodiles to watch. At night we had hippos wandering right around the tent. Our guides at Lion camp were Dennis and Moses, they were super friendly and we really feel they were dedicated to making our experience great, with a big effort to see my favourite animal, cheetah - we ended up seeing three, including one hunt. We also managed to see leopard at lion camp including an amazing sighting of one in a tree as our very last sighting of the trip. We did 6 nights / 7 days and didn't want to leave, although there was never more than 6 people in any of our vehicles, and in fact there were some drives where we had a vehicle just to ourselves, we still booked one day with a private vehicle. It was well worth the cost, especially if you're in to photography or have a particular animal you want to see. We were able to stay sitting with a cheetah for a few hours and got to see it hunt, something that probably wouldn't have been possible with other people in the car.If you're thinking of doing a safari, and want an experience where you'll feel part of your surroundings, part of a little community, but above all else that gives you intimate sightings of beautiful animals while respected them and their environment, then porini in the mara is what you're after. Thank you to everyone on our trip, Tink (Andrew) and DelfinaPosted on Lisa B29 October 2025Verified A Life-Long Dream, Realized! My husband and I are coming up on a week, since being on Safari and still it is all we can think about! Gamewatchers made everything simpler and so much more enjoyable than it might have been. At a time when, everywhere I turn, people and organizations are vying for attention, Gamewatchers seems to put their collective energy into creating the best possible experience for their clients and then trusting those clients to go out and spread the word. It was incredibly refreshing! And no hidden costs!Because going on Safari had been a life-long dream, I hoped my expectations would not disappoint. They did not. We saw and experienced everything we wanted to in Porini Amboseli, Amboseli National Park and Porinin Mara,,,our choices. The Maasai taught us about the Big Five, the Small Five and the Ugly Five. That said, I went with my own personal five. Four were animals I hoped to see and the fifth was getting to know the Maasai people. I realized all five. Maasai men lead and served us in the camps. In addition, we visited a Maasai village, near Amboseli, where we met Maasai women and children. I can only describe it as joy, pure joy. Traditionally, the women create various arts, mostly beaded jewelry, that they made available to us with absolutely no pressure to purchase. To meet these artists and to learn that the money they receive sends their children to school, gave even more meaning to the pieces I brought home. From the morning wake-up coffee/tea call, to being walked back to our tent each night, there was a connection with these beautiful, strong Maasai men. They were present not only to our needs, but also seemed to have a genuine interest in our lives. Of course, we saw lots of animals, and up close, too. Our guides and trackers took us through the bush and out on the Savannah morning, afternoon and night. At the close of each run, we enjoyed a scrumptious meal. In short, I would take the exact same trip all over again. Gamewatchers and the Maasai people will hold a place in my heart forever…and I can be quite particular.Posted on Martha L22 October 2025Verified Experience of a lifetime, simply outstanding. It was one of those precious holidays of a lifetime, one which you cannot find the words to adequately describe to others, you simply had to be there. We didn’t imagine for one moment that we could get so close to the wildlife, and experience the sights and sounds of everyday life out in the wild. Fascinating symbiosis, animals mating, playing with their young, fighting, feasting on their hunt or scavenging on a carcass, it was in front of our very eyes. To be sat in the truck twenty feet away from a pride of lions roaring was the most incredible sound, to be sat in the truck twenty feet away from a leopard in an iconic Acacia tree was stunning, and sitting round the camp fire with a clear view of the Milky Way was simply beautiful. The knowledge displayed by the drivers, and spotters was second to none. Every day we marvelled at how they were able to recognise something way in the distance, then carefully navigate the way through bushes, over rocks and drive you in a position which wasn’t confrontational to the wildlife to view it. It was clear to see that compassion was paramount in their actions which was something we felt strongly about, and probably the biggest reason for choosing the Gamewatchers/Porini camp model. Our UK safari consultant, Wayne Hammond gave us valuable advice regarding the four camps we stayed at as he's been there himself countless times. The whole experience flowed without excessive travelling in between. The management, camp staff, accommodation and food were a delight, and we adored the Kenyan hospitality and sense of fun. Bush breakfasts, and sundowners were always memorable events, sometimes for the location, and sometimes for the wildlife that chose to wander close by, and we loved sitting around the campfire with other guests chatting about the day’s sightings with a glass of wine (or two). We met so many like minded people on the trip, a choice few who we will definitely stay friends with, and maybe meet again on another safari adventure with Gamewatchers! We hope so....Posted on kirarockie5 October 2025Verified Outstanding company to work with This is the third time I have used Gamewatchers to book our Kenya safari. From the start of booking to the finish of our trip, everything has been superb. Zuhura put together our trip on each occasion and made changes for me when I wanted to add places or amend anything. She was extremely thorough, professional and informative throughout the whole process. Once landing in Kenya we were greeted by a Gamewatchers' representative and all information about our trip was discussed with us again. We took many internal flights and everything was organised to the smallest detail. Our guides met us at the airstrips and you never felt unsure about anything, right up until the time we were dropped back at the airport. I highly recommend Gamewaters Safaris and we definitely use them again on our next trip.Posted on Wombling_Free_75484 October 2025Verified Knowledgeable and professional We had a great experience with Boniface and David. Knowledgeable and professional guides, who were keen to make sure that we had the best trip possible and were happy to help in any way. Arrangements all ran smoothly and we felt well looked after at all times. Thank you,Posted on donna S3 October 2025Verified An awesome experience! I was in awe throughout the safari! To experience these magnificent creatures up close and personally was an amazing experience. I can't stop talking about it!Posted on Simonc2 October 2025Verified Porcini lion camp and Ngenche Camp The most wonderful experience we have ever had. The trip exceeded all our expectations. There was nothing more they could have done at every levelPosted on Jude Y25 September 2025Verified excellent experience We really enjoyed the trip to Masai Mara and Nakuru. We were able to see a lot of animals, the Big Five many many times. We saw the lions in nearly every game drive. When we arrived Nairobi, we worried about the food we were going get in the camps, We were looking for the cup noodles in the supermarkets, but were not able to find any. It turned out, no noodles were needed. The food in the camps were excellent. We booked a private trip. The night before the safari, a staff member from Gamewatchers contacted us in the Nairobi hotel and told us the guide would meet us in the lobby in the morning to start the safari. We met up with the guide in the morning, and the guide took us to the camps and did the all the games drives in the next 10 days. The guide, Paul, is very experienced. We were able to see many scenic places and many animals. In the end, Paul dropped us off in the Nairobi hotel. The arrangement was seamless. The person, Wayne Hammond, in Gamewatchers who booked trip for us is very experienced as well. He was able to tell us exactly what to expect. Gamewatchers is a trusted agent. I definitely will recommend it to anyone/everyone.Posted on Andreas J23 September 2025Verified Another great safari experience This was my 4th time with this company on a safari in Kenya. As always everything worked out perfectly from booking to payment to every transport on time.Another great safari experience.
