My connection with Africa began through years of travelling across the continent.
I later spent more than twelve years managing safari camps and lodges while supporting conservation initiatives including beekeeping and tree-planting projects.
Having travelled extensively throughout Eastern and Southern Africa, I developed a deep appreciation for authentic wilderness experiences and the conservation-focused approach of the Porini Camps.
I am originally from Belgium and now based in Spain, though my heart has always remained in Africa.

Yes. Madagascar is an established tourism destination, and its main national parks and safari regions regularly welcome international travellers. We’ll plan your accommodation, guides, transfers and internal travel in advance, while keeping up to date with local conditions before and during your trip.
No. Madagascar isn’t a Big Five destination, and that’s part of what makes it so different. Come here for indri, sifakas, ring-tailed lemurs, chameleons, fosa and extraordinary endemic birdlife. If the Big Five are important to you, we can combine Madagascar with Kenya or South Africa.
Our safaris are all private, we arrange private transfers, guides and a personalised itinerary built around your interests and preferred pace. The national parks themselves aren’t private, but by choosing the right lodges, routes and excursions, we can give your trip a much more intimate feel.
Yes, with the right itinerary. Some wildlife experiences involve forest trails, uneven ground and longer journeys between regions. But if you let us know the ages and ability of everyone travelling, we’ll help you plan a Madagascar safari that everyone will enjoy.
Around 10 to 14 days is a good starting point for most Madagascar safaris. That gives you time to experience more than one region without rushing between them, especially if you want to unwind and relax on the stunning shores of the Indian Ocean.
For most travellers, May to October is the best time to visit Madagascar, with generally drier conditions making excursions and travelling between regions easier.
However, the best month depends on the wildlife, landscapes and activities you want to experience, which don’t always align with May to October. We’ll recommend the best travel dates around your priorities and interests as we plan your journey further.
