Tucked away in the tranquil Ol Chorro Losoit Valley between the Lemek Hills, Mara Bush Houses is a collection of three houses located in the 30,000-hectare Mara North Conservancy, a serene community-owned conservancy adjacent to the Masai Mara National Reserve in southwest Kenya.

Among them, the Mara and Acacia houses stand as spacious three-bedroom havens, while Dik Dik house provides a cozy two-bedroom retreat. Each offering its own unique charm, these exclusive-use houses are designed for families or groups who want the privacy of their own home while on safari in Kenya. With a large, spacious verandah overlooking the busy waterhole, a large dining and living room with a fireplace, and a shared pool house, the Houses offer a luxurious setting and tailored service with the charm and comfort of feeling at home.

As the Houses are exclusive-use properties, guests are free to design their own itinerary, embracing the freedom to create their own unforgettable adventures
according to their schedule, timing and preferences, from exciting game drives and guided walks through the wilderness, to relaxing at the pool or playing board games in the lounge by the fire.

The Houses are fully staffed, with a dedicated and hands-on team including a wildlife guide, personal chef, room steward, waiter and household manager who ensure every stay is seamless and memorable.

Dik Dik House

Inside Dik Dik House is an open-plan dining room and lounge with a log fire – perfect for when the temperature takes a slight dip in the evenings. The House has one ensuite bedroom and one twin bedroom with a shared bathroom, a private outdoor verandah and a shared pool area.

Though not hosted, Dik Dik House comes with a full hospitality team including a private chef, house manager, room stewards, waiters and private guide.

Acacia House

Inside Acacia House, you’ll find an open-plan dining room and lounge with a log fire – perfect for when the temperature takes a slight dip in the evenings. The House one double room with en-suite bathroom, one attic room and a double room on the ground floor with a shared bathroom.  The House also has a private outdoor verandah and a shared pool area.

Though not hosted, Acacia House comes with a full team, including a chef, house manager, room stewards, waiters and your own private guide.

Mara House

PRICES INCLUDE: Return scheduled flights to and from Masai Mara, 2 nights Full Board accommodation (including soft drinks, beer house wines, non-luxury spirits), conservancy fees, laundry, one vehicle and guide per house, local airstrip transfers (Mara North Airstrip), game viewing drives in the Mara North and Lemek Conservancies, sundowners, bush breakfast, visits to local school and trading centre.

Child Policy:

  • Children aged under 2 years stay and fly free (if not using own flight seat)
  • Children aged 2 to 4 years stay free (flight payable, please contact us for prices)

NB: Guests at Acacia House & Mara House take day / night game drives and guided walks within the Conservancy and can take optional game drives on the Masai Mara National Reserve subject to paying the government park fee of US $80 per adult ($45 per child up to 18 years) per day for 2023, and for 2024 US$ 100 per person per day in green season and US$ 200 per person per day in peak season.

Masai Village excursion: fee of $30 per person payable locally

Hire of Extra Vehicle & Guide: US$ 385 per vehicle per day (minimum 2 days)

Due to the exclusivity of Mara Bush Houses, the following policy is applicable during both low and high season

  • If guests are leaving on the 2pm or 4pm flight, there is an additional fee which consists of park fees, an additional lunch (if applicable), and hire of a private vehicle.
  • If guests are leaving on the 2pm or 4pm flight and would like to continue to use the house until time of departure, there is an additional fee which consists of 75% of the applicable rate per night rate, and park fees.

Family Travel:

  • High and Peak season: Families (less than 5 pax) with children aged 5-12 years old must pre book the private vehicle as per availability in res request and this is chargeable at normal rates. If the private vehicle is not available we may not be able to accommodate the booking.
  • Low and Green season: Families (less than 5 pax) with children aged 5-12 years will receive a FOC private vehicle but this is subject to availability and individual camps will be contacted by the sales team to ask if this booking can be accommodated.
  • Year round: Families with children aged 5-12 years old will receive a private vehicle FOC for every 5 pax in the family. This vehicle must be pre booked and is subject to availability
