In the World Travel Awards 2022, our Porini Mara Camp has been voted “Kenya’s Leading Tented Safari Camp”!

The Africa & Indian Ocean winners of the 2021 World Travel Awards have been announced today, and we are pleased that our Porini Safari Camps have won “Kenya’s Leading Safari Camp Brand”.

The winners of the Regenerative Travel 2021 Impact Awards have been announced, and we are pleased that our Adopt An Acre Initiative has won in the “Conservation” category.

Porini Mara Camp is a “Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best” Winner — Tripadvisor’s highest honour!

The camp has won in the category of “Best Small Property – Africa” and is in the top 1% of properties worldwide based on travellers’ reviews and ratings of their experience.

TripAdvisor has announced that Porini Mara is a winner in the categories of “Top 25 Small Hotels in Africa” and “Top 10 Small Hotels in Kenya”!

TripAdvisor’s revered Travellers’ Choice Awards are based on its user reviews and ratings over a 12 month period. The awards give recognition to the World’s most highly recommended destinations, attractions, beaches, islands, exceptional service hotels and resorts.

We are delighted that Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps are winners in the category of “Best Social Impact 2019” and Runners-up in the category of “Best Green tour operator” in the Eco Warrior Awards 2019 – this continues our winning streak over the past 14 years!

The Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony of the World Travel Awards was held on Saturday 1 June 2019 in Mauritius, and we are pleased to announce that we have won “Africa’s Responsible Tourism Award”.

Now in its 26th year, World Travel Awards – known as the “Oscars of the Travel Industry” – acknowledges and rewards excellence in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry worldwide. It is recognised globally as the hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

Ol Kinyei Conservancy – the pristine setting of our Porini Mara and Porini Cheetah Camps – is included on the prestigious IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas, one of only 45 in the world.

The Porini Safari Camps have been listed in the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame. This unique accolade is granted only to those businesses that have won the Certificate of Excellence for at least five years in a row. The Certificate of Excellence is earned by receiving consistently great travel reviews.

Ecotourism Kenya has awarded Porini Rhino Camp a Gold eco-rating certification, so now 4 of our Porini Safari Camps are rated as Gold Level properties.

Porini Mara Camp has gained another TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award!

The annual TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards are now in their 14th year and for 2016 Porini Mara Camp has come 4th out of 10 in the Top Ten hotels for romance in Kenya!

Gamewatchers Safaris received the Ecotourism Kenya 2016 awards for “Eco-rated Tented Camp of the Year” for Porini Amboseli Camp in Selenkay Conservancy and the 1st Runners up certificate for the “Community Conservancy of the Year” for Ol Kinyei Conservancy.

Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Safari Camps have won “Kenya’s Leading Safari Camp Brand” for the third time in the 23rd World Travel Awards – the “Oscars of the Travel Industry”!

The Eco Warrior Award for ‘Kenya’s Tour Operator of the Year 2015’ was awarded to Gamewatchers Safaris in a ceremony on 16th October 2015 at Leisure Lodge, Diani.

TripAdvisor announced the Top Ten properties in Kenya for “Exceptional Service”: Porini Mara Camp came first!

We are very proud to announce that for the second year in a row Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps won "Africa's Leading Tented Safari Camp" in the 21st annual World Travel Awards.

Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps are proud to have won in two categories of the prestigious World Travel Awards 2013 – Africa’s Leading Tented Safari Camp and Kenya’s Leading Safari Camp Brand.

The Eco Warrior Award for ‘Most Responsible Tour Operator of 2013’ was awarded to Gamewatchers Safaris in a ceremony held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on the 24^th of September 2013. 

The Eco Warrior Award for ‘Community Conservancy of the Year 2012’ was awarded to Ol Kinyei Conservancy where Porini Mara Camp and our Gamewatchers Adventure Camp are located.

Porini Safari Camps were awarded by the Kenya Tourism Federation for Best Support and Integration with local communities’ award in 2012.

Gamewatchers Safaris Ltd is the proud Winner of the Kenya Tourism Awards for 2011 in the Tour Operator of the Year category – Large Tour Operator.

Gamewatchers Safaris & Porini Camps win in the 2011 Skål International "Sustainable Development in Tourism Awards”

The Eco Warrior Award for ‘Most Responsible Tour Operator’ was awarded to Gamewatchers Safaris.

Ecotourism Kenya awarded the low-impact Porini Camps the 2009 Eco-warrior Award in the Accommodation category for“working with communities next to national parks and reserves to create protected wildlife areas”.

National Geographic Adventure magazine has rated Porini Amboseli Camp as one of the Top 50 Ecolodges in the World, acknowledging the camp’s outstanding achievements in wildlife conservation and supporting local communities.

Gamewatchers Safaris and Porini Camps won the 2008 Responsible Tourism Award for Best for Conservation of Endangered Species or Protected Area at the World Travel Market in London, November 2008.

Virgin Holidays at their 2008 Annual Awards Ceremony presented Porini Safari Camps with the prestigious Gold Partnership Award for Sustainable Tourism.
