Embark On Your Dream Kenya Beach Holiday

The Indian Ocean Coastline of Kenya has some beautiful beaches and some good quality hotels. Gamewatchers Safaris can arrange stays at a number of selected hotels at one of Kenya’s Beach Resorts in conjunction with an African safari holiday.

Mombasa South Accommodation

Just south of Mombasa is the famous Diani beach, one of the most renowned on the East African Coast, with its long, soft, white sand making it a tropical paradise. There is also an offshore reef which is ideal for snorkelling and as this also keeps the waves low it is an ideal beach for paddling and swimming. There are many exclusive hotels situated on the beach: Afrochic, a boutique hotel, Asha Cottages a seafront property with 5 exclusive guest rooms, Msambweni Beach House a family owned beach property, Leopard Beach and Sands at Nomad both with spas, Alfajiri Villas and Southern Palms situated on the beach and Tijara Beach which has its own private beach. The more remote and quieter Galu Beach is a few miles south of Diani and Pinewood Village provides excellent accommodation and activities. On Funzi Island, an unspoilt island off the coast is Funzi Keys and on Chale Island is Sands at Chale.

Mombasa North Accommodation

The North Coast of Kenya, stretching from Mombasa and Kilifi to Malindi and Watamu, offers some of the country’s most stunning beaches and coastal retreats—perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a safari. These areas combine pristine white sands, turquoise waters, and vibrant coral reefs with luxury accommodations and tranquil hideaways.

Visitors can explore the Malindi Marine Park and Reserve, with its magnificent lagoons, coral gardens, seagrass beds, mangroves, and diverse marine life, including dolphins, turtles, and colorful fish. The dramatic rock formations at “Hell’s Kitchen” and the nearby Arabuko Sokoke Forest make the region a paradise for bird watchers, while the extensive Mida Creek provides another haven for splendid birdlife and peaceful nature walks.

Whether seeking exclusive beachfront villas, boutique resorts, or family-friendly hotels, the North Coast combines comfort, natural beauty, and a touch of adventure, making it an ideal complement to a Kenyan safari. From cliff-top retreats in Kilifi to luxury lodges near Malindi and Watamu, this stretch of coastline promises relaxation, exploration, and unforgettable ocean views.

Lamu Accommodation

Lamu is a small island off the north-east coast of Kenya. The waterfront Swahili town of Lamu is made up of historic Arabic-style buildings and narrow bustling streets. There are no cars on the island and Lamu is untouched by mass tourism.
