Set apart and raised on platforms, the Lodges’ nine cottages offer you privacy and tranquility.
The rooms stretch away from lodge on a long walk way. There are plenty of steps and we mean plenty so this is not for those who are not at full fitness. These cottages are exceptionally spacious with large double or twin beds.
Each spacious cottage comes with a choice of twin or double beds made up with the softest bed linen and feather pillows. An indoor seating area leads out to a private deck where you can enjoy morning tea or coffee with views over the lake and the Rwenzori Mountains. The en-suite bathrooms boast marble countertop basins set atop crafted Elgon olive pedestals, claw footed freestanding baths, and glass-walled showers. With modern solar power, you will always have hot water and electrical charging points
Dining
The finest 3-course cuisine awaits you in the Main Lodge. The menu is based on classical European cuisine and tweaked to make use of local ingredients, many of which are hand picked from Kyaninga Lodge’s own kitchen garden or the neighboring markets. After dinner, head through to the Lounge where you can relax by the fire with a drink from the fully stocked bar. During the day time, head out to the terrace and relax on loungers while enjoying the view of Lake Kyaninga. In this equatorial paradise, you will feel a thousand miles away from the bustle of daily life, and you are; with wireless internet access in the Main Lodge, you can still share your adventures with your loved ones.
Activities and facilities
Steps hewn from ancient volcanic rock lead down to the azure swimming pool (the lake is also a comfortable temperature for bathing) and to an emerald lawn for croquet, badminton and boules. Those wanting to work up even more of an appetite can play a few sets on one of the only grass tennis courts in Uganda. Afterwards, unwind in the sauna at the wellness center or be soothed with a professional massage or reflexology treatment.
The edge of a spectacular crater lake provides the perfect start to your exploration of this hidden region. Stepping out from your cottage, your adventure begins here. Kyaninga Lodge’s beautiful gardens are the creation of London-based landscape designer Imogen Jenkins. The gardens provide a stunning setting for relaxation, reflection, and space for games. There is even a lawn tennis court for you to enjoy. With amazing wildlife on your doorstep, take a guided walk around the beautiful Kyaninga Crater Lake and Forest. See how many species of primate you can spot.
The surrounding grounds are an excellent introduction to your Uganda adventure – take a guided tour around the Kyaninga Crater and spot many different species of primates. If you want activities in the comfort of the lodge, then the tennis court is a fantastic place to blow off some steam.
