Tucked away in a secluded forest of Leleshwa (African Wild Sage) and Yellow Bark Acacia, Porini Giraffe Camp offers an intimate and authentic safari experience in the heart of the Mara Ripoi Conservancy. Spanning 22,000 acres of rolling hills, lush riverine woodlands, and open plains, this exclusive conservancy is a haven for wildlife—including big cats, elephants, giraffes, and countless other species—all roaming freely between the Mara Reserve, Siana Conservancy, and Ol Kinyei Conservancy via natural wildlife corridors.
With just eight guest tents, Porini Giraffe Camp provides a personal and eco-conscious safari experience, offering a refreshing alternative to the crowded tourist lodges. The camp’s spacious dining tent and inviting lounge, set along the tranquil Ripole River, create the perfect setting to unwind after thrilling game drives and guided walks.Â
Designed with minimal environmental impact, the camp operates with no permanent structures, staying true to its eco-friendly ethos and is ideal for families and travelers seeking a more exclusive and immersive adventure.
As part of a conservation initiative, the land is leased from the local Maasai community, ensuring that both wildlife and people benefit from sustainable tourism.
Mara Ripoi Conservancy is home to just three small camps, including Porini Giraffe Camp as a founding member, and remains off-limits to outside tourist vehicles. This means guests enjoy unrivaled access to thousands of acres of pristine wilderness—without the crowds.

Tour Experiences
Day 1
Depart from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport on the 10am flight to the Mara. Met at the Mara Naboisho Ol Seki airstrip by Porini staff and transfer to camp. After lunch take an afternoon game drive in the Mara Ripoi Conservancy, stopping at a scenic point for a sundowner. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 2
A full day to explore Mara Ripoi Conservancy on the lookout for elephants, buffalo, giraffe, plains game and the big cats. Wake up at dawn and enjoy an early game drive in the conservancy, returning to camp for a late breakfast followed by an escorted nature walk and then lunch. In the afternoon enjoy another game drive in the Conservancy with a night drive as you head back to camp driving in the dark with a filtered spotlight for the chance to see the nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at Porini Giraffe Camp.
Day 3
Take an early morning walk in the Mara Ripoi Conservancy escorted by Maasai warriors and return for breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi (arriving around 12.15pm).
Porini Giraffe Camp can also be combined with one or more of the other Porini Camps as part of a longer safari – see our recommended safaris for itineraries and prices. Alternatively, opt to extend your stay for an additional night at Porini Giraffe Camp.
Tour Experiences
Day 1
