Day 1 – WINDHOEK – SOSSUSVLEI
After landing at Windhoek’s International Hosea Kutako Airport, about 40 km outside of Windhoek, you will be met by a company representative who will discuss your safari with you and introduce you to your pilot, before you board your light aircraft flight to Sossuvlei Area.
The flight will take you over the central highlands of Namibia before descending the great escarpment and on over the Namib Desert to land at a local airstrip situated in the Sossusvlei Area.
Upon arrival at a local airstrip, you will be welcomed by a representative from &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge who will take you to your accommodation with time to familiarize yourself with your surroundings.
Should time allow, the afternoon can be spent enjoying one of the many shared activities offered by the lodge, or you could take time to relax and appreciate the unique surroundings of your camp/lodge.
Overnight &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge (Suite / Fully Inclusive)
Day 2 – SOSSUSVLEI
This morning you will rise early for a magical shared excursion into the Namib Naukluft National Park, entering the Park gates at sunrise to capture the dunes whilst the light is soft and shadows accentuate their towering shapes and curves. This area boasts some of the highest free-standing sand dunes in the world.
Your local guide will give you an insight on the formation of the Namib Desert and its myriad of fascinating creatures and plants that have adapted to survive these harsh environs. Once you have explored the areas around Sossusvlei and Deadvlei to your hearts content you can enjoy a picnic in the shade of a camel thorn tree.
Return to your lodge in the early afternoon for a late lunch.
The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure (from experience, this is usually welcomed after an exhilarating morning in the dunes) or can be spent on another guided scheduled activity within the nature reserve as offered by the lodge.
Overnight &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge (Suite / Fully Inclusive)
Day 3 – SOSSUSVLEI
Full day of activities as offered by &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. After discussion with local lodge guide you can decide on the activities of interest for the day. Activities on offer include:
• Living Dunes Experience
• Desert People Experience
• Desert Rock Experience
• Desert Drive
• Big Dune Walk
• Stargazing
• E-biking
• Hiking
Stay for 3 or more nights and receive a free 45min scenic helicopter flight over Sossusvlei (value add activity on a sharing basis)
Overnight &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge (Suite / Fully Inclusive)
Day 4 – SOSSUSVLEI TO SWAKOPMUND
Today you will transfer to the local airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Swakopmund. This flight includes flying over the Namib Sea Sand two shipwrecks, seal colonies along the Atlantic Ocean, abandoned diamond camps and Walvis Bay lagoon and salt works. Low level flying and visibility of attractions will be weather permitting, and subject to protected land rules such as the bird sanctuary at Sandwich Harbour.
A highlight is the flight over the Eduard Bohlen, a German cargo ship that ran aground in 1909 while it was on its way to Table Bay from Swakopmund. It is believed that thick fog caused the ship to founder close to Conception Bay. Years after the ship ran aground the desert began to encroach on the ocean and the ship that was once stranded in the ocean slowly became stranded in the desert. The wreck currently sits about 500 metres from the ocean, ensuring that it’s the best-preserved shipwreck along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast and making it a must see for photographers if the weather allows for clear visibility.
Upon arrival at Swakopmund Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative who will transfer you to The Strand Hotel. The rest of the afternoon is there for you to relax and settle into your charming accommodation, with the option to explore Swakopmund city if desired.
Dinner this evening can be enjoyed at any restaurant in town at own account.
Overnight The Strand Hotel (Luxury Suite / Bed & Breakfast)
Day 5 - SWAKOPMUND TO DAMARALAND
Today you will be collected from your accommodation at a pre-arranged time for your transfer to Swakopmund Airport for your light aircraft flight into the heart of Damaraland. Damaraland is typified by displays of colour, magnificent table topped mountains, rock formations and bizarre-looking vegetation.
The present day landscape has been formed by the erosion of wind, water and geological forces which have formed rolling hills, dunes, gravel plains and ancient river terraces.
It is the variety and loneliness of the area as well as the scenic splendour which will reward and astound you, giving one an authentic understanding of the word ‘wilderness’.
After your arrival at a local airstrip, you will be met and transfer to Onduli Ridge with time to familiarize yourself with your accommodation.
Time permitting, the afternoon can be spent enjoying a shared activity, such as solar e-biking, rock art viewing, nature drives, and walk, as offered by Onduli Ridge.
Overnight at Onduli Ridge (Suite / Full Board)
Day 6 - DAMARALAND
After an early breakfast you will be treated to an exciting 4×4 excursion along the ephemeral Aba Huab River valley to explore this remarkable region and to search for game, especially the elusive desert adapted elephants, if they are in the area. Damaraland is home to a variety of desert adapted wildlife and hidden desert treasures.
Depending on their location you will either enjoy a picnic lunch out in the field or return to camp for lunch and this afternoon you visit the nearby attractions and geological sites of Twyfelfontein rock engravings (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Return to Onduli Ridge for some well-deserved leisure time.
The rest of the afternoon can be spent on a leisurely nature walk ending with sundowners overlooking the ancient granite landscape, before returning to camp, with time to freshen up before dinner.
Overnight at Onduli Ridge (Suite / Full Board)
Day 7 – DAMARALAND
The day is available to explore the Damaraland area by vehicle and on foot, enjoying the freedom to discover the fascinating landscapes in an active way suitable to your requirements, with your private guide.
As part of your day’s adventure, you search for desert adapted giraffe. Another option is a full day excursion looking for black rhino on a separate conservancy with Save the Rhino Trust, although the activity will be spending a large part of the day driving as you try to find them in a vast unfenced area.
Having barely survived the slaughter in many parts of Africa during the ’80s and ’90s, the black rhino population of Namibia increased substantially since the formation of the Save the Rhino Trust although sightings are still rare as these black rhino roam vast unfenced wilderness.
This afternoon you have the option to enjoy a leisurely bike excursion around the Onduli Ridge or simply take the afternoon to rest and enjoy the awe-inspiring rocky desert of the Damaraland from the comforts of camp. This evening you may like to roll your bed onto the deck and sleep out under the blanket of stars in this beautiful wilderness area.
Overnight at Onduli Ridge (Suite / Full Board)
Day 8 – DAMARALAND TO ONGUMA
Today, at a pre-arranged time, a camp/lodge representative will take you to a local airstrip for your light aircraft flight to the eastern boundary of Etosha National Park.
After your arrival at a local airstrip, you will be met by a camp/lodge representative who will transfer you to your camp/lodge with time to settle in. For the afternoon you have the option of various activities. Activities on offer include game drives inside Etosha and on the Onguma Reserve, and the afternoons are generally spent on game drives within the Onguma Reserve.
Overnight Onguma Camp Kala (Suite / Fully Inclusive)
Day 9 – ONGUMA TO ETOSHA
Today you will explore in Etosha National Park for the day.
Etosha National Park, translated as the ‘Place of Mirages’, Land of Dry Water’ or the ‘Great White Place’, covers 22,270 km², of which over 5,000 km² is made up of saline depressions or ‘pans’. The largest of these pans, the Etosha Pan, can be classified as a saline desert in its own right. The Etosha Pan lies in the Owambo Basin, on the north-western edge of the Namibian Kalahari Desert. Until three million years ago it formed part of a huge, shallow lake that was reduced to a complex of salt pans when the major river that fed it, the Kunene, changed course and began to flow to the Atlantic instead.
If the lake existed today, it would be the third largest in the world. Etosha Pan is the largest of the pans at 4,760 km² in extent.
In the late dry season animals congregate in the hundreds around the many water sources, queuing to quench their thirst. When the rains arrive the area is transformed, bringing a plethora of birdlife that comes to take advantage of ideal feeding conditions. Thousands of flamingos and other water birds descend to the flooded salt pans to take advantage of this time of plenty.
Overnight Onguma Camp Kala (Suite / Fully Inclusive)

Posted on kirarockie5 October 2025Verified Outstanding company to work with This is the third time I have used Gamewatchers to book our Kenya safari. From the start of booking to the finish of our trip, everything has been superb. Zuhura put together our trip on each occasion and made changes for me when I wanted to add places or amend anything. She was extremely thorough, professional and informative throughout the whole process. Once landing in Kenya we were greeted by a Gamewatchers' representative and all information about our trip was discussed with us again. We took many internal flights and everything was organised to the smallest detail. Our guides met us at the airstrips and you never felt unsure about anything, right up until the time we were dropped back at the airport. I highly recommend Gamewaters Safaris and we definitely use them again on our next trip.Posted on Wombling_Free_75484 October 2025Verified Knowledgeable and professional We had a great experience with Boniface and David. Knowledgeable and professional guides, who were keen to make sure that we had the best trip possible and were happy to help in any way. Arrangements all ran smoothly and we felt well looked after at all times. Thank you,Posted on donna S3 October 2025Verified An awesome experience! I was in awe throughout the safari! To experience these magnificent creatures up close and personally was an amazing experience. I can't stop talking about it!Posted on Simonc2 October 2025Verified Porcini lion camp and Ngenche Camp The most wonderful experience we have ever had. The trip exceeded all our expectations. There was nothing more they could have done at every levelPosted on Jude Y25 September 2025Verified excellent experience We really enjoyed the trip to Masai Mara and Nakuru. We were able to see a lot of animals, the Big Five many many times. We saw the lions in nearly every game drive. When we arrived Nairobi, we worried about the food we were going get in the camps, We were looking for the cup noodles in the supermarkets, but were not able to find any. It turned out, no noodles were needed. The food in the camps were excellent. We booked a private trip. The night before the safari, a staff member from Gamewatchers contacted us in the Nairobi hotel and told us the guide would meet us in the lobby in the morning to start the safari. We met up with the guide in the morning, and the guide took us to the camps and did the all the games drives in the next 10 days. The guide, Paul, is very experienced. We were able to see many scenic places and many animals. In the end, Paul dropped us off in the Nairobi hotel. The arrangement was seamless. The person, Wayne Hammond, in Gamewatchers who booked trip for us is very experienced as well. He was able to tell us exactly what to expect. Gamewatchers is a trusted agent. I definitely will recommend it to anyone/everyone.Posted on Andreas J23 September 2025Verified Another great safari experience This was my 4th time with this company on a safari in Kenya. As always everything worked out perfectly from booking to payment to every transport on time.Another great safari experience.Posted on Ruth M16 September 2025Verified Accommodations arranged were wonderful. Some services not provided as promised. The safari part of our package was wonderful and went smoothly. However, nobody met us at the Nairobi airport to transfer us to our hotel. This was included in our package. As a result, we got scammed by a man at the airport who charged us an inflated rate for the ride to hotel. We stayed 2 nights in Nairobi and had an included tour of Nairobi, which went well. Then, the last morning, we were supposed to be taken to the airport for our flight to our safari camp. Nobody from Gamewatchers showed up. The people at the hotel called them and we were told to have the hotel take us. So, we had to rush to leave extra bags at the hotel and have them take us. Luckily, we made it on time. Once I arrived home, I emailed the CEO and he apologized and refunded the money we paid for the transfers.Posted on sherry r15 September 2025Verified A trip of memories of a lifetime adventure. A wonderful experience with Porini Camps. All arrangements were perfect, staff at the camps were welcoming and made us feel like we were family. Dealing with Rick McIntyre to handle the details for our trip was a pleasure.Posted on Go7112348 September 2025Verified Fantastic ,the only way to go on safari Excellent safari. Everything went as planed, great accommodation ,food staff couldn’t do enough for our comfort The guides were exceptional and gave us the best advantage to see the wildlife. Christine RoffeyPosted on Don A25 August 2025Verified Gamewatchers Safari - Trip of a Lifetime! A Gamewatchers safari with stays at the Porini Camps (we stayed at Amboselli, Rhino, and Mara) is a wonderful experience that you will not forget. Each camp, while having the same amenities, offer a different atmosphere in different ecosystems. The hospitality was great from all the staff. Guides are well-trained and cater to your needs and desires for wildlife observation. I am a birder, and they pointed out birds as well as mammals, trees, etc. We learned SO much and our heads were full of all the new knowledge and appreciation for the animals that we received. Game drives were comfortable, and viewing was excellent. Arrangements were seamless. Great value for what we received.Above all, the Gamewatchers philosophy of conservation and respect for the indigenous people makes the trip even more worthwhile.

It was during these immersive and unforgettable journeys that my passion for Africa evolved into a clear vision: to join the Gamewatchers team and help others discover the magic of safari. I’d love to connect and plan your wildest dreams!
