Visit Ndutu Safari Lodge
Ndutu Safari Lodge is situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the southern Serengeti eco-system. It is an ideal location to include as part of a road or air safari of Northern Tanzania.
The Lodge nestles under a canopy of giant acacias with views towards Lake Ndutu. The lodge offers a superb base in which to explore the range of habitats that lie within easy reach.
Accommodation
Ndutu Safari Lodge consists of 34 stone cottages that extend from the central, open-sided bar, lounge and dining room. Each room has en suite facilities and its own verandah that faces Lake Ndutu. The cottages are made from local materials and offer comfortable accommodation.
Meals
From 05.30 onwards, and throughout the day, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are available in the lounge area. Guests can also request early morning drinks to be delivered to their rooms. Breakfast is a buffet of fresh fruits and cereals, and an English cooked breakfast is made to order. Boxed picnic breakfasts cab be ordered for those that want to be out and about early. A three-course lunch is served from 12.30 until 14.00 and Dinner is a hearty four course affair served from 19.30 to 21.00. There is always a vegetarian alternative and, with prior notice, the chef is happy to cater for any special needs.
Wildlife
Swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world famous Serengeti short grass plains make Ndutu Safari Lodge one of the best places to watch wildlife.
Millions of wildebeest come here during the rains – December through May. They calve on the plains in February, they gallop through the woodlands, they swim across the lake.
From June through November, the plains are dry and the great herds gone. This is the time when the resident animals converge around Ndutu’s waterholes and marshes – elephants, giraffes, impalas, every kind of cat, a profusion of birds. Wet season or dry, there’s lots to see.
