Visit Tipilikwani Mara Safari Camp
With an attractive setting on the banks of the Maasai Mara’s River Talek, Tipilikwani Mara Safari Camp offers a high standard of accommodation for a Kenya safari. The camp overlooks the plains of the Mara region and has an exclusive feel with just 20 luxurious riverfront safari tents. High quality game drives are taken in 4×4 vehicles in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
ACCOMMODATION
Guests at Tipilikwani Mara Safari Camp are accommodated in spacious and attractive safari tents. Each is nicely furnished in a contemporary African style and offers every comfort expected of a luxury safari camp.
Each guest tent has either a king-size double bed or twin queen-size beds as well as a sofa, coffee table, dressing table, attractive soft furnishings and a verandah. All tents have electricity and en suite facilities (showers / double basins with hot and cold running water and w.c.).
Family tents (of which there are two) are comprised of two adjoining tents -one double and one twin.
ACTIVITIES & FACILITIES
Tipilikwani Mara Safari Camp prides itself on its high standard of cuisine and excellent service. Breakfast and lunch (three courses) are taken al fresco where possible and dinner is a four-course affair served by candle-light in the elegant dining area or outside under the stars.
Activities from camp have a focus on life in and around the Maasai Mara – its flora and fauna and the life of the local Maasai people. Premium game drives introduce guests not only to Africa’s Big Five but also to the lesser-known species. These game drives are taken in open sided 4×4 safari vehicles for the best possible game-viewing experience.
The early morning game drive may finish with an amazing breakfast in the bush, surrounded by the stunning landscape, “Out of Africa” style. In the evening the drive will take in a scenic point in order to stop for sundowners to observe the sun setting over the African plains.
A wonderful feature of Tipilikwani is its resident naturalist who is there to share a wealth of knowledge about the camp’s surrounding area. The educational guided bush walks enable guests to discover more closely some of the indigenous plants and animals and learn how the local Maasai makes use of the land in their everyday existence. Regular visits are made to a local village where guests can learn more about the Maasai culture and witness a little of Maasai life.
