Drama in Ol Kinyei
The savannah is often peaceful, almost Paradise on Earth. Then, all of a sudden there’s an abrupt change of scenery – a lioness starts stalking. A couple of seconds later she’s caught a baby wildebeest. For some reason she lets it loose, she’s probably going to play a cat-and-mouse game with it. But then, two young male lions turn up and grab the wildebeest calf. Not because they’re hungry, they start a tug-of-war fight. Who is the strongest, who is going to be the dominant one? All this takes place right in front of us, where we’re sitting in our open vehicle. Ten minutes later one of the males suddenly stops pulling and starts eating and the fight is over. Suddenly they both lose balance and start rolling down a slope towards a river but manage to stop before they fall in.
