Visit Enasoit Camp
Enasoit Game Sanctuary is situated on the Laikipia Plateau, at the foot of Mount Kenya. Set within a natural wildlife corridor, Enasoit is a haven for game watching, and welcomes up to 16 guests on an exclusive basis. The beautifully appointed luxury camp has 6 double / twin en-suite tented cottages which overlook a busy wildlife watering-hole. Each cottage is cleverly constructed from canvas, thatch and permanent local materials with a fireplace, a private veranda and a comfortable seating area with sheepskin sofas for morning tea and game viewing. Bathrooms are en-suite with flush toilets and hot-pressure showers.
The lounge area is the heart of the camp, with cosy armchairs to sink in and watch the wildlife roam past, a large deck, dining area and fireplace for cooler evenings. There are family photos here telling the story of real life at Enasoit, and its history. And a collection of books about African wildlife and history to read by the campfire. There’s a waterhole and salt-lick in view of the deck, lit at night, providing endless live entertainment!
Other facilities include a heated swimming pool, a massage room overlooking the waterhole, and a media room at the main camp offering broadband internet, mobile phone reception, satellite TV and DVDs.
Activities include day and night game drives, bush walks with knowledgeable rangers, bush picnics and sundowners in the most scenic locations and bird-watching drives in the cedar forests. Horse-riding is also possible and is a wonderful way to experience Laikipia’s wild terrain and wildlife. And if this all sounds too energetic, you can simply unwind at the pool watching the world go by, or indulge in a spa treatment or massage if you prefer.
