There are 94 spacious rooms, air-conditioned, spread over three floors with a view over the ever-awake Alfred Basin or Piazza. On the third floor is home to 26 sophisticated superior loft bedrooms – the ideal space for visitors seeking a cosmopolitan experience with all the luxury that the Victoria & Alfred Hotel brings.

The in-house restaurant has a reasonably good reputation and is particularly popular for breakfast; you can dine alfresco while enjoying the excellent view of Table Mountain. The Green Dolphin, one of Cape Town’s premier (but pricey) jazz venues, is in the same building, and Den Anker, one of the best Waterfront restaurants, is a short stroll away.
