In October 2016 Ecotourism Kenya awarded Porini Rhino Camp a Gold eco-rating certification, meaning that 4 of our Porini Safari Camps now have the prestigious Gold Level rating:
- Porini Rhino Camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy
- Porini Amboseli Camp in Selenkay Conservancy
- Porini Mara Camp in Ol Kinyei Conservancy
- Porini Lion Camp in Olare Motorogi Conservancy
Eco Tourism Kenya Eco-Rating Scheme
Ecotourism Kenya promotes responsible tourism practices within the tourism industry. This entails encouraging the adoption of best practices in the use of tourism resources, working with local communities and managing wastes and emissions.
The Ecotourism Kenya Eco-Rating Scheme judges tourism facilities against various Sustainable Tourism Measures and awards either a Bronze, Silver or Gold rating. The measures ensure that properties meet strict criteria in various areas including:

- Environmental Conservation
- Waste Management
- Energy Management
- Water Management
- Chemical Use
- Benefits to Staff & Local Community
- Cultural Preservation
- Visitor & Staff Education
