Porini Mara Camp - Ol Kinyei Conservancy, Mara

Porini Mara Camp is the only safari camp in the exclusive wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinyei one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara eco-system. The safari camp is located less than 18 kms from the Maasai Mara park boundary. Ol Kinyei Conservancy is 250 kms from Nairobi by road - a 4 hour journey. It has its own airstrip for private charter flights and is 16 kms from the Siana airstrip used by the daily scheduled flights to Mara from Nairobi. Transfers are from the airstrip to the camp.

Duration: 2 nights/3 days

Day 1

Depart Nairobi at 10 am for the Mara. You'll be met at the airstrip by Porini Mara staff and transferred to camp. Settle into your tent and enjoy lunch prepared by the camp chef. Afternoon game drive, followed by a sundowner at a scenic point. Return to camp for a shower, dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Awake to the natural sounds of Mara's birdlife. After an early breakfast, we drive into Masai Mara Game Reserve, for a full morning of game viewing on the lookout for the Big Five! Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to Porini Camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Early morning walk in the Conservancy with Maasai warriors, followed by breakfast. Then depart on the flight back to Nairobi, arriving around 12.15 pm.

The Mara Safari Camp

The Porini camp has 6 guest tents sited in the shade of Yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli, a permanent spring within Ol Kinyei. The tents are spacious and each has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and safari shower. The camp accommodates a maximum of 12 guests, giving the experience of real camping in the bush in an exclusive private wilderness but with all the comforts required by discerning travellers. Food is excellent with home baked bread, fresh salads and high quality meals prepared by the camp Chef.

Activities including game drive, walks, night drives and sundowners are included in the price with transport in traditional open-sided Landrover 4 wheel drive safari vehicles. There is also the opportunity to book a Hot Air Balloon Safari.
