Founded over 100 years ago as a rail depot on the line that linked Mombasa and Uganda, it quickly evolved to become the capital of British East Africa in 1907, and eventually the capital of the independent Republic of Kenya in 1963.
The city retains its sense of the past, with an excellent museum and historical home of Karen Blixen, author of "Out of Africa". It is unique in having a national park within a few miles of the city centre where lions, rhinos and other African wildlife can be seen by visitors.

To cost an excursion just take the per vehicle rate for a half day or full day and add the excursion cost per person as provided below. Typically one can do 1 - 2 excursions in a half day and 2 - 4 in a fully day, plus a lunch or dinner.
