With Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak rising in the distance and vast plains alive with elephants, this brand-new lodge, opening in mid-2026, promises guests a safari experience that blends architectural elegance with deep cultural and ecological respect.

Kitirua Plains Lodge has been designed to merge seamlessly with its surroundings. Organic curves, natural textures, and earth-coloured finishes echo the contours of the terrain, while materials sourced from the local environment create harmony between lodge and landscape. The pool terrace nestles naturally into a wetland area, providing a peaceful vantage point for watching wildlife gather at dusk.

Days at Kitirua bring a choice of adventures. Game drives reveal Amboseli’s famed elephant herds, often framed by the dramatic backdrop of Kilimanjaro. Private conservancy access allows for off-road exploration and rare night drives, where lions, servals, and other nocturnal species emerge under the stars or drift over the plains at sunrise in a hot-air balloon.
