Tanzania Mobile Camping Safari
A wonderful opportunity to see the very best of Tanzania, staying in the heart of the National Parks in private camps away from the crowds. After a night in Arusha continue to the game-filled areas of Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park. This tour operates daily from Kilimanjaro / Arusha. The mobile camping in Tarangire is a completely private experience – just for your group. Enjoy 01 night at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge in Karatu and then move on to Serengeti Private Camp.
The Camping Safari Experience
Tanzania Explorer Private Camp (Tarangire)
The Tanzania Explorer camp is mobile and is fully serviced with personal staff of chef, waiter and a friendly crew providing full support and delicious home cooked meals.
The insect-proof walk-in tents are spacious (3.5 metres by 6.5 metres, 2 metres tall) and have comfortable beds, quality linens and en-suite shower, basin and wc. There is also a separate Dining / Mess Tent.
The crew travel ahead (in a separate support vehicle) and establish the camp at private sites, carefully picked for optimal game-viewing. The camps keep an exclusive feel with guests experiencing a private wilderness in the heart of the bush.
Game drives are taken in the National Parks using 4×4 safari vehicles (with roof hatch) for a maximum of 5 to 7 people (guaranteed window seat). Safaris are escorted by professional driver-guides.

Day 1
You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to the Four Points by Sheraton Arusha Hotel for overnight (Bed & Breakfast).
Day 2
Have breakfast at the hotel and meet your guide / host for a briefing before departing by 09.30h to head to Tarangire National Park (118 km) with a picnic lunch and game drives en route. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire (private camp).
Day 3
Breakfast at camp then head off for a full day exploring the highlights of Tarangire on the look out for Big Game. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight Tarangire (private camp).
Day 4
Today we leave early and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, and enjoy the day game viewing in this beautiful little park. Picnic lunch. Later in the afternoon, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge or similar.
Day 5
Early breakfast then we depart camp to descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater for game-viewing. Picnic lunch at a scenic spot by a lake. Later we continue to the Serengeti National Park visiting the fascinating Olduvai Gorge en route, and an optional visit to a Masai village. Dinner and overnight in Serengeti Private Camp.
Day 6 & 7
Breakfast at camp. Game drives in Serengeti National Park. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Serengeti Private Camp.
Day 8
Take a last breakfast at camp before transferring to the local airstrip for the flight back to Kilimanjaro.

Hello, I am Sally Wanjau, and I have been travelling to Kenya on safari since the 1980’s which led to me living and working there for several years. Married to a Kenyan, it is a place that I now call home. I currently live in the UK with my husband.
