The Nile Monitor Lizard also known as the African small-grain lizard or the Iguana is Africa’s longest lizard and one of the largest lizards in the world, sometimes reaching lengths of over 2 meters (more than half its tail length).

Seldom wandering far from water, it is commonly seen rummaging around the riverine undergrowth, basking on a rock or swimming through the shallows.

This video was taken by video journalist Arnold Temple on a game drive around Naboisho Conservancy from Porini Mara Camp.
