A luxurious villa style retreat nestled along the shores of pristine 1km long stretch of beach in the Bazurato Archipelago in Mozambique.  Azure Marlin Beach offers ten, sea facing villas with uninterrupted views of the warm, turquoise ocean and with a Mozambican Butler-host service, to ensure that your every need is looked after.

Guests can explore the Bazaruto Archipelago and Benguerra Island, the second largest island of 5 within the Archipelago with it’s unspoilt beaches, remarkable dive sites and snorkelling in crystal clear waters.  PADI diving, kayaking, fishing, sailing or island hopping in a speed boat are also all available activities, or simply relax and watch the world pass by, from your private beachside sala or indulge in a treatment at the African Massage Pavilion.

The lodge is built on community principles, most of their hosts, housekeeping staff, gardeners are Mozambican, typically, having grown up in disadvantaged communities, and are being trained by Azura. Azure are one of only a handful of resorts in Mozambique, where the local community are major contributors and stakeholders.  Guests are offered excursions into the local community to experience island life and have the opportunity to encounter some of the members of the local island community. Guests also contribute to the marine reserve by paying the Bazaruto National Park fee.

Accommodation:

6 Beach Villas – Each villa is 100m2 with a king-size or twin bed and seating area.  The bathroom has an indoor and outdoor shower.

3 Beach Villas Grande –Each villa is 132m2 with more relaxation space, a minibar, TV, and space for up to 2 children to share the sitting area. Located closer to the main area of the hotel.

1 Villa Vista – Villa is 380m2  with 2 en-suite bedrooms (up to 4 guests).  Offers more relaxation space with bar, dining and lounge with TV, as well as extensive outdoor space with a private pool.

Location

Located on Benguerra Island, Mozambique, the lodge is accessible by daily flights between Vilanculos and Johannesburg. There are also flights connecting Nelspruit and Vilanculos. A short helicopter flight offers the transfer between Vilanculos and Benguerra island.
