The Maji Beach Boutique Hotel

The Maji Beach Hotel brings a new dimension in design concept and hospitality to the Kenyan coast. This boutique style property has just 15 luxurious guest rooms and is an oasis of relaxation and peace, ensuring its guests the ultimate tranquillity in an exclusive environment.

The Maji has a stunning, dedicated beach front setting right at the shores of the Indian Ocean in the northern part of Diani Beach.

Diani is 27 km south of Mombasa and is regarded as the best stretch of beach on the Kenyan coast line. The white, sandy beaches are inviting you for a long beach walk or to dive into the turquoise waters of the sea.

The hotel is just 10 minutes from Ukunda airstrip which has convenient daily flights to and from Nairobi, Mombasa, the Masai Mara and other National Parks.

Maji is the Swahili word for water, and life here embraces an aquatic theme. The Indian Ocean caresses the reserved beach, three sides of the hotel are surrounded by the extensive swimming pool springing out from the heart of the hotel lobby and other water features including an ocean front Jacuzzi further enrich the ambiance.

Accommodation

The Maji Beach features 15 individually designed bedrooms including a Superior Room on the ground floor, a Junior Suite laid out over 2 floors and an Executive Suite which becomes a very spacious Presidential Suite once combined with a Deluxe Room on the top floor of the building.

All rooms are elegantly appointed with large double beds and have a balcony or a terrace offering a view of the magnificent Indian Ocean or that of the lush tropical gardens.

Each room is equipped with flat screen TV with DSTV, DVD player, music player, telephone, safe, mini-bar, tea & coffee facilities, ceiling fan and air conditioning. Some rooms contain a comfortable sofa convertible into a third bed, others a day bed or a relax area, perfectly set within the room.

All bathrooms are well designed, fitted with comfortable and spacious shower with hand shower and overhead shower, toilet, bidet, single or double wash basin and some bathrooms in addition have a bathtub.

The rooms are classified in 7 categories:

• 1 Superior Single Room, Garden View
• 5 Superior Double Rooms, Garden View – for one, two or three guests
• 6 Deluxe Double Rooms, Ocean View – for one, two or three guests
• 1 Deluxe Double Room with Private Jacuzzi, Ocean View – for one to three guests
• 1 Junior Suite Duplex, Ocean View – for one to four guests
• 1 Executive Suite, Ocean View – for one to three guests
• 1 Presidential Suite, Ocean View – for one to four guests if the Executive Suite is combined with one of the Deluxe Rooms

There are many options for fine dining at the property including private dining. The Maji Moto luxury bar, the Kahawa Tamu coffee lounge and various lounges and terraces provide the ideal spots for relaxing.

There is also a gym with ocean view, a yoga platform by the beach, the Africana Gallery boutique gift shop, a Book & DVD library, the open air Shisha Lounge and a Travel Desk.

Massage & Beauty treatments are offered and there is WiFi Internet throughout the property.

Dining at The Maji Beach

Guests may choose to dine whenever and wherever they wish: in the air-conditioned dining room, on the Palm Deck next to the pool, in the gardens under bitter almond trees or palm trees, by the dedicated beach or in the privacy of their own room or balcony.

There is a choice of  dishes from a wide selection of “a la Carte” Gourmet Menus featuring Swahili, Indian, Mediterranean and other Ethnic Specialities with accent on fish and seafood brought daily from the ocean. The hotel only uses locally grown fruits and vegetables from the Shimba Hills and Msambweni regions and the expert Chefs will suggest and create personalized dishes to your preference.

The “Maji Moto” bar offers a large range of international drinks, a wide selection of international wines as well as classic and home-speciality cocktails.

“Kahawa Tamu” – the Coffee Lounge will surprise you with international and national coffee specialities freshly prepared.

A dedicated team of experienced chefs, professional waiters and housekeepers, complemented by all other staff are available, at all times, to provide intuitive, attentive, personalized, friendly and discrete service.
