Amani Tiwi Beach Resort has a perfect location, set directly on the white sands of Kenya’s south coast and overlooking the Indian Ocean. It is surrounded by 20 acres of attractive gardens and has its own private beach as well as a large swimming pool and a great choice of activities and entertainment.

The property is ideal for couples, families or groups and is an ideal base from which to explore the Kenya coast.

Tiwi Beach is one of the best stretches of beach along Kenya’s coast. It has unspoiled white sands, shady coconut palms and casuarinas trees and a large rock pool in which you can take a refreshing dip. The area offers a peaceful and low-key alternative to the bigger resorts further north, yet popular Diani Beach is just a 10 minute drive away where there is a choice of beach bars, souvenir shops and restaurants.

 

Accommodation

Amani Tiwi Beach has a choice of two room types – Amani Rooms and Amani Deluxe Rooms. The hotel had much refurbishment in 2012 and all rooms have a contemporary style and good amenities included.

Amani Rooms have a balcony and pool or garden view and feature a queen-size bed and a single bed, air-conditioning, satellite LCD TV, telephone, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities, daily bottled water, mosquito nets and Wi-Fi access (payable).

Amani Deluxe Rooms are also available. They have one king-size bed or twin beds and are as above with the addition of either a rain shower or whirlpool bath, iron and ironing board and bathrobes and slippers.

 

Facilities & Activities

Amani Tiwi Beach has a good choice of dining options. The hotel’s Palm Restaurant serves a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner and there are three speciality restaurants. The Italian themed ‘La Bella Vita’ offers an à la carte menu on the beachfront. The ‘Sultan’s Dhow’ has seafood and Middle Eastern cuisine and the ‘Baharini Restobar’ offers Swahili fusion style dining.

There is also a snack bar and a coffee shop, and the hotel hosts themed nights of entertainment.

The hotel’s three interconnecting swimming pools (including children’s section) are perfect for cooling off from the African sun, and there is a swim-up bar/ pool bar.

The entertainment team host various sports, games and quizzes and the weekly themed nights include tribal dancing and acrobatic shows. There is also a disco (plus weekly beach disco) and live music.

Sports activities include table tennis, pool table, darts, tennis, table football, beach volleyball, beach walks, aqua aerobics, water polo and at the Fitness Centre there is aerobics.

Snorkelling equipment, bodyboards and kayaks are available and there are scuba diving lessons in the pool. Diving excursions can be arranged.

There is also an internet cafe, gift shop, laundry service, hairdresser, massage service, 24-hour reception and a shuttle bus service to Diani (payable).

For children there is a kid’s pool, playroom, playground and a hotel-run Kids’ Club (for children aged 5 to 11 years). Cots and highchairs are available.
