Situated within a private concession, in the most remote part of the World Heritage Site in Mana Pools is the Kanga Pan, the only permanent water source for a 20km radius, which creates a haven for wildlife, drawing animals from near and far to drink and is the location of Kanga Camp.
Offering 6 Meru style tents, Kanga Camp could not be in a better position for wildlife lovers to be immersed in the nature that surrounds them. The location, especially in the “dry season’ offers the perfect setting for their famous “Armchair Safari” with the animals coming to seek out water. Guests have the opportunity to traverse and explore the private concession on foot with experienced and passionate Guides or in a 4 x4 safari vehicle. The seasonal hide also offers a different viewpoint of observing the wildlife at the Pan.
In between the daily activities, guests can cool off in the plunge pool or simply enjoy an “Armchair Safari” from the comfort of the terrace.
Conservation
The camp is a part of African Bush Camps Foundation which aims to make an impact in the communities and wildlife areas surrounding their camps. The projects running that focus addressing challenges that include unemployment, food scarcity, poor education and healthcare infrastructure, low school attendance and dropouts due to financial constraints, wildlife poaching, and preserving natural resources.
