Somalisa Expeditions offers six classic style safari tents each on it’s own raised decking, the perfect spot to unwind after a days activities and soak in the views.
This is Elephant country, and you will have the opportunity to experience amazing sightings of these majestic creatures, either from the elephant pool in front of the main lounge and dining area, or from the water hole which is frequently used as a ‘mud-bath’ and a popular spot for the elephants and other wildlife that come to drink or wallow.
Walking Safaris are a highlight at this camp, where you can explore the surrounding area on foot with a qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you. Game drives and night drives also offer the opportunity for more exciting wildlife encounters.
The African Bush Camps Foundation believes in creating a longlasting, positive impact on the local communities. This is achieved by partnering with these communities to uplift their circumstances through tourism. The ABCF started out in the Dete, Mambanje and Hwange Main Camp communities boarding Hwange National Park. Within these communities, the Foundation focuses on Education, Conservation, Community Infrastructure and Community Empowerment. A visit to these communities takes a day and needs to be booked in advance, however, it is a rewarding day that is worth the trip.
