This high-quality lodge is sited on a tea plantation at the edge of Rwanda’s Nyungwe Forest National Park – an ancient mountainous rainforest on the Albertine Rift. From here guests can explore the labyrinth of park trails that lead through the forest to magnificent view points and pretty waterfalls. A wealth of flora and fauna can be discovered such as 13 species of primates including chimpanzees and many endangered monkeys.

Having been designed to blend into its surrounding environment with the use of natural materials and calming tones, Nyungwe Forest Lodge is contemporary in style with wooden floors and a clean, fresh ambiance. It is easy to feel at one with nature as the large windows and terraces provide beautiful views of the forest from every angle.

Accommodation:

Nyungwe Forest Lodge has a choice of beautiful Luxury Rooms and Suites all of which face the forest and have a private balcony or terrace. All rooms and suites have ensuite bathrooms with shower and feature a fireplace, air-conditioning, satellite television, telephone, WiFi, small safe, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer.

Facilities:

Dining options at Nyungwe Forest Lodge include a restaurant which has a private area and private terrace. There is also a bistro, a tea lounge / bar as well as the boma – a great place for outdoor dining and drinks.

There is an outdoor heated swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and a lovely Relaxation room where guests can indulge themselves with a range of beauty treatments after a long day trekking through the wilderness.

For the more active there is a Fitness Centre with treadmill, cycle and free weights. A gift boutique is on site.

Activities:

Many different excursions can be arranged including chimpanzee trekking (minimum age 15 years), treks in search of various monkeys, bird-watching walks and other guided walks (1 hour to 7 hours) to view nearby swamps and waterfalls. Cultural tours to nearby villages can also be arranged.
