Xaranna Tented Camp overlooks one of the permanent lagoons of the Okavango Delta in 25000 hectares of pristine wilderness. The Camp boasts breathtaking views of the channel, providing guests with a water and wilderness experience that combines the best of what the Okavango has to offer.
Xaranna Tented Camp is set in pristine wilderness that is shared by only 18 guests. It consists of nine contemporary safari tents, each with breathtaking views, a romantic sala and private plunge pool.
All guest areas are carefully positioned to maximise the sweeping view across the water. The intimate guest seating lounge boasts a spacious reading and games area, geared towards gentle relaxation.
An al fresco dining deck ensures the perfect backdrop for all meals. Guests can also choose to have their refreshments served while lounging on the plump cushions in the comfort of their own tent.
Xaranna offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the delta wilderness, with a selection of game drives, mokoro trips and bush walks available. Huge herds of buffalo are frequently encountered. Guests are able to experience this irresistible combination of water and wildlife on twice-daily game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles, mokoro and powerboat excursions (water- level dependant).
Bush walks provide an opportunity to explore the surrounding areas and encounter animals on foot (subject to availability), while night drives give a fascinating glimpse into the busy nocturnal activities of the Delta. Six white rhino were released on the concession in early May 2013 in an effort to aid the conservation of the species and boost the rhino population in the delta.
