Diamond Beach Village offers a unique, rustic away-from-it-all experience on Manda Island. It is located on the beach front with amazing views of the Indian Ocean, neighbouring Lamu island, Shela village and the traditional dhows passing by. It is the perfect place to find tranquillity for days or weeks, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

This is a great low-key base from which to explore the colourful Lamu culture and people.
Guests can simply sit back and relax in peace for days on end and let the friendly staff look after their every need, whether it’s breakfast in bed or drinks on the swing bed.
Accommodation
At Diamond Beach Village there are six traditionally-designed bandas / beach huts. The floors and walls are made out of star palm which is locally-woven and the roofs are a thatch of coconut palm.
There are two single bandas (each with a double bed) and four double bandas. A large “family” banda is divided into two en suite rooms and can accommodate up to five people.
Each banda has ensuite facilities, a veranda with tables and chairs and include mosquito nets and solar lighting. For charging cameras, etc there is a main charging point in the library.
Diamond Beach also features a special Tree House built on three floors around a Baobab tree.   It has a wooden furnished veranda stretching around the tree.  It can sleep up to six, has two bathrooms and a large, very private garden with sun beds and swing beds. It is often referred to as the honeymooners’ paradise.

Facilities & Activities

At Diamond Beach the focus is on simple activities. Guests enjoy relaxing with a drink under the shade of the acacia trees on the swing beds and hammocks while listening to the lap of the Indian Ocean.
There is a chill out area for guests with swinging chairs and beds, a library and games. It is very easy to spend the day reading, dozing off and drinking fresh fruit juices until it’s time for cocktails at the bar.
At dusk there is a full view of some of the most breathtaking African sunsets and when night falls there is often a stunning 180 degree view of a perfectly clear star-studded sky. A moonlit swim is rewarded with the shimmer of the phosphorescence which is truly spectacular.
Excursions and visits to the nearby attractions can be arranged.
