Sirikoi is a spectacular game lodge situated on it’s own private estate in the centre of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Sirikoi is surrounded by an acacia grove and overlooks a natural waterhole fed by a spring. Evening sundowners with incredible views of distant mountains, are an absolute highlight, preceding exquisite meals served under the stars or next to the roaring fire.

Sirikoi’s four luxury tented rooms have been built spaciously and have fantastic views of the waterhole, so you can watch the passing game from your private verandah – your tent also has a fireplace and an elegant bathroom, with a huge freestanding Victorian bath and a shower. The beautifully designed pool is also the perfect spot from which to watch game. There is also a two bedroom house, secluded from the main lodge, which is ideal for families or those guests wanting utter exclusivity.

ACTIVITIES

Days are as action-packed or as rejuvenating as desired, and Sirikoi offers a range of unique activities through which to experience and explore the wilderness and wildlife.

Guests enjoy incredible wildlife encounters:

  • on morning, evening and night game drives in their own exclusive and open safari vehicles with their guide;
  • on foot with a ranger on a bush walk,
  • from one of the Lewa hides watching the wildlife pass by,
  • or in a leather chair on the Sirikoi deck overlooking the busy waterhole and wildlife on the lawns.

One of the joys of Sirikoi is the busy waterhole right in front of the main deck, making it possible to see an array of wildlife without even leaving the lodge. We call this “armchair game-viewing”, and it is a defining feature of Sirikoi.

FOOD

The ‘farm to plate’ dining experience at Sirikoi is exceptional. Meals at Sirikoi are colourful, fresh and unpretentious. All meals are served on the Sirikoi deck overlooking the Sirikoi waterhole. Guests are delighted by the simple and elegant home-styled cooking, and even more so when they see where most of the fresh produce comes from – the prolific organic vegetable garden.

Dining out in the wilderness on bush meals and having sundowners are another favourite experience at Sirikoi.

CONSERVATION AND COMMUNITY

A passion for wildlife and commitment to conservation and community development are at the heart of the Sirikoi philosophy. Lewa is internationally renowned as an innovative model for the conservation of wildlife and habitats, including endangered species such as black rhino and Grevy’s zebra. A key to this success is engagement with local communities, achieved through the initiation and support of community conservation and development programmes, and the education of neighbouring communities in the value of wildlife.

Together with the generous help of our guests, Sirikoi contributes significant amounts towards Lewa’s conservation, community, education and health projects. Our guests have the unique opportunity to see conservation in action – to go behind the scenes at Lewa’s headquarters, to experience first-hand how conservation and anti-poaching really work. Guests are show around the operations room and tracker dog unit, have the opportunity to meet members of the anti-poaching team, and may also like to visit Lewa’s health clinic or one of the schools supported by the education programme.
