A 6 night, 7 day safari combining some of Africa’s best wildlife areas where you are guaranteed to see at least 4 of “The Big 5” – elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo – with an excellent chance of seeing leopard (the elusive 5th member!), as well as an abundance of other animals.

Accommodation is in luxury tented camps at Porini Amboseli Camp and Porini Mara Camp and also a two night stay in the luxurious Lion Hill Lodge.

The Kenya Explorer Safari includes game drives in Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park, as well as walks with Maasai trackers and night game drives in the Selenkay and Ol Kinyei Conservancies. There is also the opportunity of an optional Balloon Safari with champagne breakfast.

The extra night rate includes game activities on the Conservancy where a large variety of wildlife can be seen with few other tourist vehicles present, as well as the option of having bush breakfasts, evening sundowners and night drives (all of which are not possible in the Reserve). Any visit into the reserve must pay extra reserve fee per person per day on top of above rates.

Our Porini Camps in the Mara are adjacent to the reserve in exceptionally rich wildlife areas where tourism density is controlled and deliberately kept very low (1 guest tent to 700 acres) and as such there is no need to visit the Mara National Reserve to view lions,  cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffe, hippo etc.  Stays in our camps in the conservancies also include extra activities like night game drives, guided bush walks, bush meals and sundowners. However, should guests wish to include an extra visit to the reserve this can be pre-booked with the additional park entry charge applicable (currently $80 per person for 2023, $100 per person for 2024 low season & $200 per person for 2024 high season, subject to change). As the park entry tickets for the reserve must be booked and paid for in advance, this option needs to be confirmed at time of booking.
