Inspired by the hilly area of the mountains on which it rests, Mantadia Lodge is a welcoming oasis from where you can admire the wild beauty of the landscapes and animals of the Andasibe National Park of Madagascar.Guests can partake in a number of activities including encounters with the Indri Indri lemurs, guided bird walks, cultural visits to a neighbouring village, night safaris or simply the time to relax and cool off in the outdoor swimming pool during the heat of the day. Mantadia Lodge offers a magnificent restaurant terrace which overlooks the valley, where guests can watch the sunrise at breakfast and the sunset over Andasibe Park with a cocktail. Guests can also indulge in a therapeutic treatmentat the onsite Herbal Spa.
The lodge implements a program of sustainable development and the defence of biodiversity, in partnership with local communities. Since its opening in 2018, it has participated in the protection of a once abundant nature, which has become so fragile. They apply a zero-plastic policy in the hotel to limit the non-biodegradable waste of the hotel, used water from the hotel is treated and filtered in tanks to be reused for watering the plants & vegetables of the hotel, thus limiting the waste of precious water in Madagascar and to support local families the hotel employs 80% of the staff from the village of Andasibe.

The lodge features 23 rooms and suites with modern amenities, including air conditioning, satellite TV, minibars, coffee/tea makers and private terraces to admire the sunsets. Guests can enjoy delicious meals at the on-site restaurant. Additional amenities and services available to guests include Wi-F access, a herbal spa and an outdoor infinity pool.

Visit the The Mantadia Park which is located about 1 hour drive from your lodge, the primary forest of the Mantadia Park spreads over 15 000 hectares and is a fascinating area for nature lovers. 108 species of birds are known in the park, of which some play a role in the survival of plants like Terpsiphone mutata. There are also 14 species of lemurs, a number of species of reptiles, among them includes the Boa Manditra snake and 84 species of amphibian. Mantadia is also a kingdom of the orchids. Cymbidiellas falcigera and Bulbophyllum ameleni are the most enigmatic species, because in addition to be rare and magnificent plants, they maintain the balance of the forest’s ecosystem. This hike requires medium to good physical conditions as there are some steep slopes and dense vegetation.
You may have the opportunity to visit the village of Andasibe which has a population of around 5000 people. Through this visit, you will witness the daily life of this calm and colourful village. With your guide, walk in the narrow and unpaved cobbled streets along the small stalls. You will have several chances to interact with local villagers and see how they make a living and occupy their free time. The walk starts or end at the old colonial train station with its alpine architecture which was home to the once very fashionable restaurant “Buffet de la Gare” in the 1930s. The market is centrally located and busiest on Saturdays.
