Lake Kariba

Covering an area of 5200 kmsq, Lake Kariba was formed in the late 1950s by damming the Zambezi River in the Kariba Gorge and remains today as one of the worlds largest man made lakes.  The lake is located along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, and is home to many species of fish, wildlife and birdlife.
