Surpassed all expectations

October 2019 | Mike Bird

Firstly a big thank you to Robyn for organising our whole trip that went without a hitch, even with lots of transfers!
To the Porini Lion camp, well it is made by the quality of the game viewing, and of course the guides! Nelson and Wilfred were chatty, funny, knowledgeable, and attentive to the groups needs. We left every morning and afternoon on the drives with no expectations, but hopes, and they found so much, and much more! So we saw lions, think the count was 39, and gorgeous males with huge manes strolling the open plains in front of our eyes! Leopards, 3, and again we followed one, so to see a leopard out and about was amazing. 8 cheetahs, with 3 baby cubs ahhhh. Oh and then elephants, giraffes, hippo (so many!), the list goes on. So the game viewing was worth it, would have eaten beans and slept on the floor to see what we saw.
But no we had a gorgeous, luxury tent, a great “safari” shower (better than some plumbed ones we have had!), great food, attentive, friendly staff (nothing was too much trouble) so we were spoilt.
We travel a lot, and so the key question is would we return? in a heartbeat, so that is the only recommendation anyone needs! Oh and we still have 1000 photos to sort through, so the memories continue!
