Amboseli & Masai Mara Safari plus Beach

This reduced 10 day itinerary includes a night at the unique Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park, 2 nights in Selenkay Conservancy (Amboseli), 3 nights in the Masai Mara and ends with 3 nights to relax at the Indian Ocean beaches of the Kenya Coast.

Safari accommodation is at the highly-acclaimed Porini Safari Camps (which are Fully Inclusive of accommodation, selected drinks, shared game drives by day and night, guided walks, bush picnics and sundowners). Transport from and back to Nairobi is by air to avoid the long road transfers.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Nairobi – Amboseli

Fly from Nairobi Wilson Airport on the 07:30hrs flight to Selenkay. You will be met on arrival by your Driver & Guide from Porini Amboseli Camp who will transfer you to camp, with a game drive enroute. After lunch you will have an escorted walk to a nearby Maasai village to gain an insight into the way of life of the communities living outside the Selenkay Conservancy. You will then drive back into the Selenkay Conservancy. Enjoy a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro then continue with a night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Amboseli

Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, return to camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Amboseli

After an early breakfast, enjoy a walk with Maasai Guides in the Conservancy. Take a rest after lunch and then go out on an afternoon game drive to explore the Selenkay Conservancy. All the big cats have been seen in the Conservancy as well as elephants and a wide range of species including large numbers of giraffes, zebra, and antelopes. There are also less common animals to be seen such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, lesser kudu and African wildcat. Return to Camp for dinner and overnight

Day 4 Amboseli – Masai Mara

Early breakfast, drive to the airstrip for the flight to Wilson Airport, connecting onto the 10:00hrs flight to the Mara (arriving at 11:00hrs). You will be met at the airstrip by your Driver Guide and transfer to Porini Bush Camp, with a game drive en-route. Settle into your tent before enjoying lunch. In the afternoon head out on a game drive with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive with spotlights to search for nocturnal animals, including the elusive leopards which are resident in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, before heading back to camp for dinner. Overnight at Porini Bush Camp.

Day 5 Masai Mara

A full day to explore Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancies on the lookout for elephants, buffalo, giraffe, plains game and the big cats. Wake up at dawn and enjoy an early game drive in the conservancy, returning to camp for a late breakfast followed by an escorted nature walk and then lunch. In the afternoon enjoy another game drive in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy with a night drive as you head back to camp driving in the dark with a spotlight for the chance to see the nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at Porini Bush Camp.

Day 6 Masai Mara

Another full day to explore Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancies on the lookout for elephants, buffalo, giraffe, plains game and the big cats. Wake up at dawn and enjoy an early game drive in the conservancy, returning to camp for a late breakfast followed by an escorted nature walk and then lunch. In the afternoon enjoy another game drive in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy with a night drive as you head back to camp driving in the dark with a spotlight for the chance to see the nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at Porini Bush Camp.

Day 7 Masai Mara – Nairobi – Diani

Early morning game drive in the conservancy returning for breakfast. Mid- morning transfer to the airstrip for the 11:00hrs flight back to Nairobi Wilson airport (arriving 12:20hrs). Lunch is excluded on this day but you can have a quick and light lunch at the airport, payable direct.

Connect onto the afternoon scheduled flight to Diani. Met at Ukunda airstrip and transferred to Pinewood Beach Resort. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8&9 Diani

Days at leisure at the resort, lunch on own arrangements. Dinner and overnight at Pinewood Beach Resort.

Day 10 Diani – Nairobi

Breakfast at the resort, rest of the morning at leisure with use of room until 1000hrs, lunch EXCLUDED. Later, transfer to Ukunda for 15.30hrs scheduled flight back to Nairobi, arriving at 17:10hrs. Met at Wilson airport and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for homebound flight.
