Porini Giraffe Camp has 8 guest tents and offers a personal and authentic experience for a safari in the Maasai Mara,

Porini Safari Cottages

Safari Cottages
The 4, four-bedroom safari high end Porini safari cottages are on a hillside location with spectacular views over the open plains below. There is a large wildlife dam down from the cottages which is a big draw for wildlife including lions and elephants. The cottages are designed to maximize on these views whilst minimizing the visual impact from the plains. Each Cottage has four spacious bedrooms, all with private bathrooms en-suite. A common lounge with a fireplace for the cold evenings and media room for kids to have a place to unwind, remote working, reviewing and editing the days photographers and so much more. The design is open where practical – to ‘fit in’ with the surrounds and ethos of a conservation minded development, giving a closeness to nature but without compromising comfort and functionality.

Trip Advisor Recent Reviews

“Don’t miss this gem!”

We visited Porini Amboseli, Porini Lion, and then came to Porini Mara last. It’s the smallest of the camps, but it’s absolutely lovely and our family liked it the best. The setting and location are beautiful and the staff professional but relaxed and very, very friendly. The conservancy where this camp is located gets less vehicle traffic than the other camp areas, which made it just a terrific spot to end our Kenya safari trip.

We enthusiastically recommend the Porini camps to all of our friends thinking about a safari in Kenya.

“My favourite”

Porini Rhino Camp was my favorite. I loved all the people here and everything about this camp. I was in tent #5 and it was so great! I could see the watering hole and watched zebra, impala, gazelles, elephants, and cape buffalo going to the water. It was amazing! At night I could hear the buffalo walking all around my tent. Also saw a rare black rhino with a baby. We found a pack of wild dogs. This is also the first time I saw a kill. The staff was so friendly. The food here was the best. It was like eating in a 4 star restaurant. I also enjoyed sitting by the fire each night before dinner. This is a wonderful camp. Thanks Gamewatchers for getting me there!

“Fantastic Safari introduction so close to the city”

My 9 year old daughter and I had a fantastic 3 nights as an introduction to our first African Safari. After an easy collection from the airport we entered the park at midnight and commenced our first night drive spotting mongoose, buffalo & giraffe before we even arrived at the Nairobi Tented Camp.
