Adventure Camping Safari in Kenya

Great Value 7 Day “Adventure Camping” Safari by Air from $ 3,267 per person during the Migration Season

Accommodation in Amboseli is in basic tents (10 feet square and 6 feet tall) and it is “real camping” but all meals are prepared by the camp cook. Mineral water is provided in camp and on game drives and beer, wine and sodas are available for sale in the camp at reasonable prices (guests are also welcome to bring their own drinks).  This safari is ideal for those for whom the wildlife safari experience is more important than the accommodation, and who are prepared to sleep in small tents in sleeping bags on a mattress on the floor with an element of “roughing it”, this gives an opportunity for an exceptional and exclusive wildlife experience with high quality guiding but at a fraction of the price.

In the Maasai Mara, you will stay at the Porini Giraffe Camp in Mara Ripoi Conservancy. The camp provides guests with the opportunity to stay at a truly eco-friendly bush camp where there are no permanent structures and there is minimal impact on the environment and this 13,500 acre Kenyan wildlife conservancy is on a tranche of land belonging to a Maasai community who have leased it to us for the purposes of wildlife conservation. has 8 guest tents and offers a personal and authentic experience for a safari in the Masai Mara, providing a great alternative to the large mass-market tourist lodges. The camp has a dining tent and separate comfortable lounge all located along the Ripole river.

The big attraction is being in small camps  in exclusive wildlife conservancies with activity-packed itineraries and excellent guides and with game drives in shared open-sided 4×4 safari vehicles, not vans.

This  safari has been designed to offer the same high quality wildlife safari experience provided by the top-end safari camps, with 4×4 game viewing escorted by top class guides and in exclusive wildlife conservancies away from the tourist minibuses, but at a hugely reduced price by staying in small basic adventure camps, “real camping” instead of the luxury accommodation of the expensive up-market tented lodges.

The Porini Camps including the Adventure Camps are sited in private conservancies with a wealth of wildlife and where you can go on walks with Maasai guides and take night drives but they are also conveniently located for easy access to Amboseli National Park and the Maasai Mara Reserve.

They have proved very popular with all our guests and the latest reviews on TripAdvisor can be read here:
