DAY BY DAY
Tour Experiences
Day 1 & 2: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Upon your arrival into Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met and transferred by shared road transfer to Bayete Guest House or Pioneers Victoria Falls (Budget Option), Ilala Lodge (Standard Option), Victoria Falls Safari Club (Superior Option) for two nights.
Bayete Guest Lodge offers 25 en-suite rooms nestled among a beautiful garden, all decorated in a rustic, chic style and fitted with air-conditioning. The lodge can accommodate up to 55 guests at a time. The Caldecott Boma is home to the dining room, which offers breakfast (included in the rate) as well as lunch and dinner on request. The Ngwezi Bridge Pub with a swimming pool offer guests the perfect place to relax. Bayete also has a small outdoor gym area.
Ilala Lodge is situated close to Victoria Falls as well as to the town centre. Wild animals are often seen grazing the hotel lawns as the National Park borders the front of the property. The Lodge offers 32 en-suite rooms each with access to the lawns or a balcony with good views of the Victoria Falls. There is an à la carte restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a comprehensive wine list and cocktails.
Victoria Falls Safari Club is set high on a plateau which forms a natural boundary to the unfenced Zambezi National Park, four kilometres from the majestic Victoria Falls. The luxury Victoria Falls Safari Club is situated within the grounds of the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge resort, overlooking a waterhole. The Club has its own lounge, private viewing deck overlooking the game corridor to the Zambezi River and a shuttle service to the Victoria Falls and town. Guest can relax at the lap pool and surrounding sundeck. The Star Talk experience, led by a specialist guide, is included on Wednesday and Saturday nights, providing insight into the galaxies. Therapists provide complimentary 15 minute head, shoulder and foot massages on the Club viewing deck daily.
Victoria Falls town lies on the southern bank of the Zambezi River at the eastern end of the Victoria Falls. It is a lovely tourist town which is easy to explore on foot and which offers a wide range of activities from the challenge of white water rafting and bungee jumping, to the awe-inspiring elephant back safaris and sunset cruises. It has something for everyone.
Day 3 & 4: Chobe National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Chobe Bakwena Lodge (Budget Option), Chobe Elephant Camp (Standard Option), Ngoma Safari Lodge (Superior Option) for two nights.
Bakwena Lodge is an eco-luxury retreat near the Chobe National Park on the banks of the Chobe River near the village of Kazangula. The name Bakwena embraces the surrounding culture of Botswana, meaning ‘people of the crocodile’ and is also one of the largest tribes in Botswana. Activities include game drives or river cruises in the Chobe. Bird watching, nature walks, cultural tours and visiting Impalila Island. Fishing trips can be arranged at an additional cost.
Located high on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the famous Chobe River is the newly developed Chobe Elephant Camp. This uniquely designed lodge has been built to take advantage of the incredible views overlooking the sweeping floodplains while offering a comfortable refuge from the harsh African conditions. With a variety of activities that include viewing the regions spectacular wildlife from open safari vehicles, by boat on the Chobe River or experiencing life in the village, a visit to Chobe Elephant Camp offers a wide range of experiences to our guests.
Ngoma Safari Lodge is situated in Northern Botswana within the Chobe Forest Reserve bordering the western edge of Chobe National Park and overlooking the Chobe River. Ngoma Safari Lodge is located 55 km from Kasane and 135 km from the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Cultural experiences and interaction with the community are paramount at Ngoma Safari Lodge and these include visits to the local school, the clinic and the village. As Ngoma Safari Lodge is situated in a Forest Reserve, both walking and night drives are permitted and activities include: game walks on the concession which are escorted by an armed and professional guide, games drives, birding as well as a full day game activity including cruising on the Chobe River and driving within the Chobe National Park.
The Chobe River Front is a remarkable wildlife area due to the permanent water source of the Chobe River. The spectacle of all the animals coming to drink and frolic at the water’s edge is one to behold. It is an area famous for its abundance of elephants, a variety of predators and, in addition, you are likely to see herds of buffalo and possibly even roan and sable antelope.
Day 5 & 6: Khwai Community Area or Okavango Delta
Moremi Crossing is located on an Island called Ntswi near the most southern part of Chief’s Island. As you fly over the Delta you can see the intricate twisting and turning of the waterways and the ever-changing colours where dry land meets Delta. The channels around Moremi Crossing offer far-reaching vistas of the Moremi floodplain, grasslands and marginal woodlands interspersed with Mokolwane palm islands. Moremi Crossing provides comfortable accommodation in 16 vintage en-suite safari tents, each with its own private wooden deck and magical views over the Boro River and Chief’s Island. All tents are large and airy with en-suite bathrooms consisting of shower and toilet. Setari Camp enjoys an idyllic island setting on a 50,000 hectare private concession in the Okavango Delta’s Panhandle region. The island is dotted with palm trees and offers an exclusive, water based safari experience. Activities are available all year. The camp sits atop wooden walkways and platforms to maximise views of the surrounding waterways.
Overlooking the legendary Chiefs Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Gunn’s Camp is one of the few remaining luxury, vintage safari camps. Set under leafy palms and African Ebony to blend naturally with its unique surroundings, Gunn’s Camp achieves a fine balance of comfort without isolating guests from the sights and sounds of the wilderness. The accommodation offered at Gunn’s Camp consists of 6 deluxe Kenyan-style meru tents with en-suite bathrooms featuring standalone baths and outside private showers. Set on raised platforms overlooking the delta plains Gunn’s Camp is ideal for honeymooners or guests looking for a more intimate and personalised safari experience. All 6 tents are discretely set within the densely treed island ensuring privacy and tranquillity. Each has been traditionally furnished with an eclectic mixture of solid wood and African furniture and offers a lounge area as well as private veranda.
Kanana Camp is set in the south western delta amongst grass covered islands formed by fertile eroded termite hills dotted with fig, palm and jackal berry trees. This traditional camp has an intimate and personal atmosphere with just 8 tents built among spectacular shady trees of ebony, acacia and sausage tree. The main lodge area is on raised decking encircling the trees and offers a dining and sitting area, a cocktail bar and a refreshing plunge pool. Activities at Kanana include day and night game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles, game viewing on mokoro excursions, guided walks, fishing, motor boating and sunset cruises. The waterways are lined with reeds and dotted with papyrus and tree islands in this picturesque and tranquil part of the delta.
Day 7 & 8: Khwai Community Area or Okavango Delta
After an early morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for the charter flight to Sango Safari Camp (Budget Option), Pelo Camp (Standard Option), Shinde Camp (Superior Option) for 2 nights.
Accommodating 12 guests in 6 en-suite meru tents, Sango Safari Camp is designed in the style of the classic tented safari camp of days gone by. Hand crafted furnishings and classic styling successfully blend the rustic with the luxurious to recreate the atmosphere of the luxury mobile safari camp. Each guest tent has its own private outdoor shower with solar heated geysers for piping hot water. The main area comprises a dining and lounge area where guests can relax and enjoy meals, as well as a viewing deck and plunge pool for whiling away the hours during siesta.
Rra Dinare Camp is situated the NG32 private concession in the southern Okavango Delta bordering Moremi Game Reserve. This exclusive and game-rich area offers a mixed habitat comprising of the Gomoti River and its channels, lush riverine forests, scenic big open flood plains interspersed with clusters of palm-treed islands and Acacia and Mopane woodlands. The camp location and views are spectacular, especially with the classic flooding of the Okavango across the seasonal floodplains.
Shinde is a magical hideaway in the wildlife abundant Shinde private concession, nestled within the shade of ancient jackal berries, water figs and knob thorns and built in a remote and exclusive setting on the edge of the permanent waters of the northern Okavango Delta. It is surrounded by clear waterways teeming with birdlife and game, and offering a wide variety of activities all year round. The camp consists of eight large en-suite safari style tents on timber decking furnished in elegant African style. Shinde also features a dining area, boma and a swimming pool. Activities include game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles which offer some of the finest dry land game viewing in Botswana with regular sightings of lion and leopard, exploring the water ways in mokoro, guided nature walks, night drives, motor boating and sunset cruises.
The Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest inland deltas situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world – the Kalahari basin. This oasis in the middle of the desert is a rich yet fragile ecosystem, providing a life source for an incredible variety of wildlife. A wealth of species have adapted to the contrasting conditions created by living in the harsh Kalahari desert which is transformed annually with the arrival of the delta flood waters originating in Angola.

After an early morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for the charter flight to Maun Airport.

More recently, I've had the privilege of staying at all the Porini Camps, where the spotlight shines on wildlife conservation—a cause close to my heart as I traverse the globe. While Kenya holds a special place in my wanderlust-filled heart, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda have also woven their magic into my soul. Hello, I’m Pranay Chandra, a veteran of the Indian Armed Forces whose profound passion for nature and wildlife led me to the world of wildlife photography. My lens has captured the essence of the wild, earning recognition in esteemed competitions like the Sanctuary Asia annual wildlife awards and the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards. Beyond photography, I’ve dedicated myself to conservation efforts, collaborating with Ecological Task Forces and supporting WWF India’s training initiatives in tiger reserves. In the realm of education, I’ve partnered with CEC, New Delhi, to create informative video programs on Human-Wildlife Conflicts. While my heart lies in India, I’ve ventured to Kenya, embracing the splendors of Africa while staying at Porini camps and other renowned lodges.
