Kenya Jubilee Safari (4x4 & Air Safari)

This special value tour visits three prime game-viewing areas – Tsavo, Amboseli & the Masai Mara – using 4×4 vehicles and high quality properties. Includes an air safari to the Masai Mara.

Our tour starts with two days in Tsavo National Park. Together Tsavo West National Park and Tsavo East National Park make up one of the largest animal sanctuaries in the world. The terrain encompasses huge plains and an interesting geological landscape such as cones, outcrops and lava flows resulting from historic volcanic activity. The area has a wide variety of wildlife including lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hippo, elephant, oryx, eland, zebra, giraffe, spotted hyena, kongoni, waterbuck, impala, duiker and klipspringer.

We then continue to Amboseli National Park – home to large herds of elephants whose population is one of the few in Africa that has been spared from poachers. Predators in the park include hyenas, jackals; lions, leopards and cheetahs. Birdlife in abundance flourishes particularly in the marshes and swamps. Over 420 species have been counted within the park as a whole including 6 species of vulture, 12 species of heron and 10 varieties of eagle.

The safari concludes in the Masai Mara – a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries, and punctuated by marshes and forests. This region supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere considering its size. During the seasonal migrations up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebra move into the area from the neighbouring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania. This area is home to all the “Big Five” and it is also possible to observe; baboon, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal, and the rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles.

Itinerary

Kenya Jubilee Safari (4×4 & Air)

Day 1 (Monday)

Depart Nairobi and transfer to Tsavo National Park (265km, 5 hours approx) and to Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge for 2 nights (Full Board and including park fees). Enjoy lunch at the lodge before setting out on an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 2 (Tuesday)

Breakfast at lodge. Game drive in Tsavo National Park. Lunch at lodge. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 3 (Wednesday)

Breakfast at lodge. Transfer to Amboseli National Park (105km, 4 hours approx) and to Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge for 2 nights (Full Board and including park fees). Lunch at the lodge before taking an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 4 (Thursday)

Breakfast at lodge. Game drive in Amboseli National Park. Lunch at lodge. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 5 (Friday)

Breakfast at lodge and then transfer back to Nairobi (250kms, approx 5 hours) arriving after midday to be dropped off at the Safarilink Terminal in Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for the flight to the Masai Mara (departs 3 pm, flight time approx 1 hour). At the Safarilink Terminal there is a coffee shop for a snack lunch (not included in price) before boarding the flight. At the Mara you will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Ilkeliani Camp. Enjoy an evening game drive before dinner and overnight at Ilkeliani Camp.

Day 6 (Saturday)

Full Board at Ilkiliani Camp including all activities and shared game drives.

Day 7 (Sunday)

Breakfast at the camp. Transfer to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi (arrives around midday). Transfer to the international airport or a Nairobi hotel (hotel not included but available at a supplement).

Kenya Coast Add-On

Alternatively – arrive at Wilson on Day 7 as above and connect to a flight to Diani / Ukunda on the Kenya Coast. Please contact us for flight supplements.

Day 5: Breakfast at the lodge then board our 4×4 safari vehicle and drive back to Nairobi, on arrival proceed to Wilson Airport where clients will buy snacks direct then board afternoon schedule flight to Masai Mara. Met on arrival and transferred to Il Keliani Camp for check in and relaxation. Late evening game drive and return back for dinner and overnight. Day 6: Next day you will have morning and afternoon shared game drives with all meals and overnight at Il Keliani Camp. After breakfast transferred to Mara Airstrip to board schedule flight back to Wilson Airport, met and transferred to JKI Airport for your departure flight back home. END OF SAFARI.

INCLUDED: Transport in a 4×4 pop-up roof safari vehicle with English-speaking driver/expert guide from Nairobi to Tsavo & Amboseli then back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, schedule flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara and back to Nairobi, all game viewing drives but shared in Masai Mara and all park fees.
