Day and night game drives are by 4×4 safari vehicles with expert guides, and exciting bush walks are included giving you the opportunity to get close to flora and fauna often missed from drives. A fun and educational visit to a Maasai village is a highlight of the tour, giving an insight into the Maasai culture and way of life.
Itinerary
Twiga Safari – 5 nights / 6 days
Day 1
Pickup from Nairobi (airport or a hotel) and transfer by safari minibus to Porini Amboseli Camp (a 5 hour journey of 128 miles), arriving at camp before lunch. (NB optional flight upgrade – at a supplement). Stay 2 nights at Porini Amboseli Camp (fully Inclusive of meals, beer, wine, soft drinks, mineral water, gin & tonics, day and night game drives, guided walks, village visit, sundowners and park fees). Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Maasai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Then take a game drive in the conservancy followed by a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro. Night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
After breakfast we depart Selenkay and transfer back to Nairobi, arriving at Nairobi Tented Camp for lunch. Spend 1 night at Nairobi Tented Camp (fully inclusive of meals, game drives, sundowner, park fees and drinks – beer, wine, gin & tonics, soft drinks and bottled water). This unique camp is the only camp within the Nairobi National Park which is home to a broad range of wildlife.
Day 4
After breakfast we depart Nairobi National Park and transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for the 10am flight to the Mara. Porini Mara Camp staff will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to camp for 2 nights (fully inclusive of meals, beer, wine, soft drinks, mineral water, gin & tonics, day and night game drives, guided walks, sundowners and park fees) . After lunch take an afternoon game drive, stopping at a scenic point for a sundowner. Dinner and overnight at Porini Mara Camp.
Day 5
Following an early breakfast, take a game drive into the Masai Mara National Reserve in search of the Big Five. Return to camp in the late afternoon, after a picnic lunch in the Reserve. Later, head out on an evening game drive within Ol Kinyei Conservancy – stopping at a viewpoint for a sundowner. Continue on a night game drive looking for nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at Porini Mara Camp.
Day 6
Take an early morning walk in the Conservancy escorted by Maasai warriors and return for breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi (arriving around 12.15pm). Met and transferred to the international airport (or a Nairobi hotel – not included but available at a supplement). Alternatively, extend your safari and see another game-filled area of the Mara by adding a stay at Porini Lion Camp.

Prices include: Pick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and then road transfer in a minivan safari vehicle to Amboseli, 2 nights in Porini Amboseli Camp with daily Selenkay Conservancy fees and one day Amboseli National Park entrance fee, Maasai village visit then afterwards drive back to Nairobi city to arrive at Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park for 1 night on full board basis. After breakfast, check out and transfer to Wilson Airport where you will board schedule flight to Ol Seki Airstrip, met and transferred to Porini Mara Camp for 2 nights with daily Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancy fees and one day Masai Mara Game Reserve entrance fee, then last day fly back to Wilson Airport. Porini camps are based on full board basis including soft drinks, beer, house wine, gin & tonic, mineral water, return conservancy airstrip transfers, day & night shared game drives in open sided 4×4 safari vehicle with qualified guide, sundowners, walks with Maasai warriors while Nairobi Tented Camp includes full board basis, two airport transfers, one shared game drive or a visit to the Elephant Orphanage (scheduled at 1100hrs), sundowner, soft drinks, mineral water, beer, wine, gin & tonic.

Child rates applicable for 08 – 12 year olds:
1 child sharing with 2 adults, child pays child package price above while the 2 adults pay per adult sharing rate.
1 child sharing with 1 adult, child pays child package price above while the 1 adult pays single adult rate.
2 or 3 children sharing in own tent, each child pays 75% of per adult rate. Child under 8 years not recommended.
Exclusive vehicle use at Porini camps:
Sole use of the open sided 4×4 safari vehicle during game drive US$ 375 per vehicle per day.
Late afternoon departure at Porini camps:
Late departure after 10h00 US$ 150 per person minimum 2 pax (includes lunch, soft drinks and activities before departure in the late afternoon).
Flight supplements:
Scheduled flight: For flying from Nairobi to Amboseli US$ 104 per adult return fare & US$ 73 per child (02 – 12 years) return fare OR US$ 93 per adult one way & US$ 65 per child (02 – 12 years) one way.
Charter flight: From 20th December to 31st March & from 01st July to 31st October we will offer daily charter flights with minimum 2 pax between Nairobi, Wilson Airport and Amboseli, Selenkay Airstrip which is very close to Porini Amboseli Camp & Selenkay Adventure Camp. The supplement will be the same as if using scheduled flight as provided above. The charter flight is only 35 minutes departing Nairobi, Wilson Airport at 08h00 and arriving Amboseli, Selenkay Airstrip at 08h35. (Camp’s vehicle transfer to Porini Amboseli Camp or Selenkay Adventure Camp for free). Note: if clients fly to or from Amboseli Airstrip within the operational dates of the charter flight then there is a supplement of US$ 50 per person each way for pick up or drop off due to the extra distance and National Park fee.
Mombasa: For flying from Masai Mara to Diani/Ukunda/Moi Airport instead of flying to Nairobi US$ 430 per adult & US$ 285 per child 08 – 11 years (one way flight). Includes late departure charge & mandatory US$100 park fee.
*Extra Night Rate:
The extra night rate includes game activities on the Conservancy where a large variety of wildlife can be seen with few other tourist vehicles present, as well as the option of having bush breakfasts, evening sundowners and night drives (all of which are not possible in the Reserve). Any clients who do choose to have another day in the National Reserve must pay the extra park entry fee of US$ 80 per adult per day / US$ 45 per child per day (up to 18 years) on top of the above rates.
