The small and intimate Porini Bush Camp is a genuine mobile camp located within the award-winning Ol Kinyei Conservancy, offering an authentic high quality, low tourism density safari experience working on the model that we pioneered of 700 acres of wilderness for every tent.

This exclusive game-rich 18700 acre wildlife conservancy has a diverse terrain of plains, forests and rivers, and is home to a broad range of species including the big cats. Guests will also have access to the Mara Reserve and the adjacent 50000 acre Naboisho conservancy.

Porini Bush Camp has 8 guest tents and offers a personal and authentic experience for a safari in the Maasai Mara, providing a great alternative to the large mass-market tourist lodges.

The camp provides guests with the opportunity to stay at a truly eco-friendly bush camp where there are no permanent structures and there is minimal impact on the environment. When the camp is taken down, the site reverts back to nature.

The camp operates seasonally, when the Wildebeest Migration is in the Mara eco-system and in 2019 will open from 15th June. For guests staying at Porini Bush Camp, we can arrange to book return flights from Nairobi to the nearby Naboisho Ol Seki airstrip using the daily scheduled services of Safarilink, one of Kenya’s leading safari airlines, at the applicable air fares.

The camp is designed in the style of the traditional professional mobile safari camps that have been accommodating visitors on safari in Kenya since the early years. Each guest tent is comfortably furnished with proper beds, linen and duvets. The en suite bathrooms have a shower, washbasin and flush toilet. Gas and solar lamps provide lighting.

There is a separate dining tent where guests enjoy high-quality meals prepared by the experienced camp chef. These include a full breakfast with cereals, fruit and choice of eggs, light salad lunch and a three course dinner.

In the evenings the campfire provides a meeting point for guests to get together, relax with a drink and share the day’s sightings.

Shared day and night game drives from the camp are in customised 4×4 safari vehicles with Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA)-certified guides and spotters (two-guide team). Guests see a wide variety of wildlife within the Ol Kinyei Conservancy and also have access to game drives in the 50000 acre adjacent Naboisho Conservancy as well as within the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Located within the Serengeti-Mara eco-system, Ol Kinyei has pristine wilderness and breathtaking scenery. The land has an abundance of water sources that attract a wide variety of animals. There is a resident lion pride (over 20 individuals) and several leopards have their territories within the conservancy. Cheetahs are frequently seen as are giraffes, Cape buffalo and elephants.

Guests can get closer to nature on educational bush walks with Maasai guides, and bush breakfasts and sundowners are arranged at scenic points.
