The Cliff is a perfect camp for a bucket-list-worthy destination for active adventurers seeking immersive experiences. The Cliff – a 10 room luxury camp opened in April 2018. While ‘luxury camp’ is the simplest description, in reality The Cliff is a combination of safari lodge, tented camp and boutique hotel, constructed and furnished in a contemporary European style.
The Cliff sits in one of the most spectacular locations in Lake Nakuru National Park. It’s perched at the top of a 100 meter high rock face with one of the most magnificent views that can be seen of the park. Lake Nakuru National Park is one of Kenya’s finest parks with its wide ecological diversity, and home to incredible wildlife as well as a birdwatcher’s paradise. The Cliff provides you a new option in lake Nakuru , and is only a two and a half hours’ drive from Nairobi.
The Cliff was designed to allow Nature in, so you can feel like you are outside – all areas are open, and not a single tree was felled during its construction.
Accommodation
The Cliff has 10 large and spacious, luxury suites – each tent being 100 square meters – Each tent is built on solid foundations at the edge of the cliff, and faces the lake, allowing guests 180 degree views of the panoramic paradise, yet maintaining privacy. Not wanting to waste the view, the tent is spacious and the freestanding bath looks outwards. While the exterior environment at The Cliff is pure Africa, the room interiors combine organic chic with international design to create the understated style of a modern boutique hotel.
Each of the rooms provide you with tea-coffee making facilities, a vanity mirror, a hairdryer, slippers, bathrobe, a minibar, a safe, wifi and adaptor plugs.
You can enjoy a nice long shower, or unwind with a drink in your bathtub as you admire the splendid view from your tent. The tents are strictly non-smoking (both inside and outside) – due to the camp’s location. However, there is a designated smoking area near the lounge.
Food & Beverage
The Cliff brings you not only the comforts of home, but adds to it authentic style and décor. You can enjoy fine spirits and wines, read a book, or enjoy a large selection of coffee made by the onsite barista. Enjoy your meals in the restaurant as the resident Chef teases your palette with a variety of flavors in your starters, mains and desserts.
Activities
It would be easy for a guest at The Cliff to spend the day gazing at the view from the comfort of the elegant tent, but there’s more to do around Lake Nakuru. Get up early and go on a game drive and perhaps see a leopard, lion, buffalo, rhino or a rare Rothschild’s giraffe. Hippo can also be sighted around the lake, and for birdwatchers, Lake Nakuru National Park is birdwatcher’s paradise with its incredible bird variety.
If guests prefer their game drive as the sun goes down they might like to visit the gym before breakfast, relax by the infinity pool with a cold drink just before lunch and have a soothing massage in the spa before heading out at 4 pm. While the day is busy, the pace itself is tranquil.
