With an ideal setting within the Aberdares National Park, this world-renowned safari lodge was carefully sited on a migration route and overlooking a watering hole and salt lick which attracts many of Kenya’s key animals including elephant, rhino and buffalo. Retaining a rustic and traditional feel, Treetops is famous as the place where in 1952 a young Princess Elizabeth ascended to her throne.
The lodge is surrounded by the diverse landscape of the Aberdares Mountain Range which has high rugged peaks, deep valleys, waterfalls and ancient forests. The region is home to many species of flora and fauna, including Elephants, Buffalo, Black Rhino and much more.
Accommodation
Treetops is a classic safari timber lodge which looks out through the tree canopy across the beautiful surrounding landscape. It has 36 simple yet cosy guest rooms and three suites, all with en suite facilities. Each room has a buzzer (optional) which sounds to alert guests when any important animals approach the water hole.
Standard rooms each have a shower and have twin or double beds.
The Suites offer more space and each has a bath with overhead shower and a sitting area which overlooks the watering hole.

Treetops has four viewing decks and a roof platform as well as two photographic hides at ground level from which to view animals as they come to the watering hole and salt lick.
Evening meals and a buffet breakfast are served in the charming dining room which features a show-cooking area and salad / buffet counters.
The lodge also has a lounge with views over the watering hole and two bars which are popular for refreshing drinks and speciality coffees.
