Porini Cheetah camp. January 2020

January 2020 | James D R Anderson

I was planning on a trip to Diamond Beach Village, Lamu when it was suggested to me that I included a safari organised by GameWatchers.
From the moment I contacted them, I was given help and advice on planning my trip. I had never been to Kenya before, let alone been on safari, and Amanda at GameWatchers helped me every step. All I had to do was to get myself to Nairobi. All else, hotels, transport in Nairobi, to and from the camp, to and from Lamu, all was organised and worked.
At the camp, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The driver and spotter who took me out each day were knowledgeable and observant. i wanted to take photographs so they ensured that I could.
A big bonus was that as Porini Camp was in a conservancy run by GameWatchers, we were not overrun by other safaris. Indeed, unless there was another GameWatchers vehicle, my vehicle was generally the only one to be seen.
I am not always as stable as I used to be, and at the camp there was always someone ready and happy to carry my camera bag and to provide stability as required.
I can thoroughly recommend GameWatchers for their professionalism mixed with understanding of what their clients want.
Thank you.
